One of the greatest opportunities I had to advance my career and learn more about the subject I love was attending the Planting Design diploma last year at London College of Garden Design.

I picked up so much from the course - headed by the passionate and knowledgeable Andrew Fisher Tomlin and Andrew Wilson that -since graduating- I find endless nooks of horticulture to pursue. This all feeds back into my business, giving me confidence to push the boat out with designs and take out a much more varied client profile.

I can’t recommend the course enough to anyone looking to build their design skills and planting knowledge. The lecturers are all themselves practicing designers, so the skills you come out with are cutting-edge industry relevant

Studying at the LCGD was a unique and unforgettable experience. I had the opportunity of meeting such amazing and kind people. A very intense year, where qualified tutors teach you every single aspect of design through a series of increasingly complex projects. Starting from the basics of drawing up to graphic rendering and the use of CAD softwares. Each subject, like planting and construction, is taught by industry experts.
Above all, the passion and teaching skills of directors Andrew Wilson and Andrew Fisher Tomlin are unmatched.
I can't recommend this course enough for anyone who wants to build a solid career in the gardening - landscaping industry.

I graduated from LCGD garden design diploma in 2019. All the tutors are also working in the industry enabling them to deliver up to date informative information in there lectures. Since graduating from LCGD I have set up my own garden design company and the ability to email the tutors with questions about lighting, construction or business advice has been invaluable. Anyone looking to study garden design the LCGD is definitely the place to go!

I studied the new Construction Design course at LCGD in 2019, such a wonderful experience. Such high quality teaching in a friendly environment. It was really great to have so many well known designers present not only teaching but with us at the "drawing board" as they helped us each through a construction detail drawing. Thank you LCGD!

I have studied with LCGD on two different courses. The first was Construction Detailing which I did last year, this year I'm about to graduate from the Planting Diploma. Both courses are led by different tutors but there is an underlying supportive, caring and professional approach to delivering these courses.

I have thoroughly enjoyed both. The construction detailing was intense and technical with access to a variety of experts that we could tap into and discuss or ask advice. The Planting Diploma has been so inspirational, creative and career changing. There are so many different guest lecturers that are experts in various subjects that gives a breadth of knowledge and information you would not be able to access anywhere else.

I would highly recommend this college and both of these courses to anyone already in the industry and those just starting out. I am sad that the course is over but looking forward now to consolidating my learning into my business and hope to keep in contact with the college and my fellow students in the future.

I can't recommend the LCGD more highly. The quality of teaching is excellent, delivered by experts who inspire and encourage. The Planting design diploma has been very thorough and the motivation and commitment of my fellow students is really special. The syllabus is very comprehensive and it has been really worthwhile.

Currently drawing towards the end of the Planting Design Diploma at LCGD and can honestly say I have loved it so much. The course leader Andrew Fisher Tomlin is personable, professional and supremely knowledgable and keen to share his experience for the benefit of his students.

One of the standout features of the courses at LCGD are the guest lecturer spots . We have had a succession of outstanding experts participate in delivering the syllabus and it has been great to meet and interact with people whose books I have been reading for the past few years! Additionally we have had the benefit of other industry leaders in class on a regular basis and supporting us with our own work. This all feeds in to a general feeling of being coached in how to navigate the garden and planting design itself and that the college prepares one well for an ongoing and future career as a designer.

I've always found the tutors and office support staff to be friendly and helpful. The dual delivery of classes both live and on-line provides a flexible system which you can flit in and out of as needed and the day-to-day organisation of the college and classes, including the tech side, provides a really good user experience. I highly recommend LCGD and will likely study further courses there in the future.

It has been an incredible 5 months learning under Andrew Fisher Tomlin on the Planting Design Diploma and the incredible line up of speakers who’ve provided eye opening insights into the way they work. Im sad to think that after a day of presentations today showcasing my piers truly inspiring project work that the course is coming to an end! I’ll be referring back to all I’ve learnt for many years to come.
