New City College, Havering Sixth Form

I went to this College when emember it then?it was called Drury Falls over 60 years ago! Did my '0' Level GCE's there! I have many happy memories of a lovely school. Anybody else r

Great economics, accounting, maths teachers. I had to go through a really hard period during my studies here, yet the staff was very supporting. Eventually, I managed to get my A-levels at a satisfactory level. But I’m sure if was taking my studies seriously, with this college, I could have gotten A* on all of my subjects.

The only reason for 3 stars was the time it took to register. However every one we came into contact with was helpful and able to advise on the options available. I would like to thank you all for what must have been a challenging day.

i came to enrol on the 8th september and waited around an hour and a horrible woman came to me and asked me what i wanted
i said i wanted to enrol and she said in a disgusting tone “well why weren’t you enrolling two weeks ago” when i replied that i had an alternative plan she said “OHHH so because that didn’t work out, NOW you want to come to this college?”
this kind of tone is unacceptable and im sure you will agree. don’t work with kids if you’re going to talk to them like dogs. i may be in the wrong for “late enrollment but if it was so bad why would it be an option 💀 also i got emails and reminders to enrol late , so please if you’re gonna scream at kids that enrol late don’t advertise about it and fire that woman asap

My Son experienced what was clearly racial discrimination and I can only assume that his surname led them to assume he white but once saw him in person used every trick in book to turn him away.

He has since found college more accepting of his ethnicity

The teachers in this the college are mostly very good with the main falling point of the school being it's unwillingness to do anything with reports made against students for serious issues due to the school caring more about reputation that student safety

So far so good. My daughter enjoys studying A levels in this more adult environment rather than a restrictive school 6th form. Chemistry, Biology and Music teachers are very good here. My daughter enjoys her lessons and is being given plenty of chances to perform, which builds confidence. Facilities for lunch are over-crowded though and 'learning support' is often closed at random times, which can be really distressing for kids with ASD and sensory issues, hence the 4 stars. Enrolling was also an 8 hour nightmare (even though we were given an 'appointment time')! Overall though, it's a good place to study and a friendly environment. If you come to enroll here on results day, bring drinks, snacks and possibly incontinence pants (queueing for EIGHT hours!!!!).

Parents be aware this college is the worst in Essex!! The NCC dictates the grades for the students!! If you want your children to work hard and do their total best !! This college will mark them down and destroy their future!!
The worst mistake i ever did was send my son to this college!!
I would give it 0 stars if i could!!!
WHY WAS THERE STUDENTS PROTESTING OUT SIDE THE COLLEGE!!! BECAUSE ITS THE WORST COLLEGE IN THE ESSEX
Update on Havering college even after the A level grades were remarked after 3 local MP had a face to face meeting and local papers investigated the story! They refused to up the grades to the correct percentages!!! Even when some students scored a A* THEY WERE GIVEN A. "B GRADE "!! Shocking college!! Destroyed many underprivileged students who didn't have the means to fight the college!!
