College of Linguistics

If I could give negative 10 stars, I most certainly would. This is a fraudulent company; it is frightening that Groupon continues to promote the company's "deals" on its website. Five months ago, I registered for the course via a discounted price on Groupon. To begin my language courses, I called the College of Linguistics numerous times within business hours, but my calls were never answered. I even left voice messages, but my calls were never returned. On two separate occasions, I visited the location during business hours, but no one was present in the building. Feeling frustrated, I decided to give the company one last chance by sending an email. Unsurprisingly, this too was ignored. In the end Groupon refunded me the money. But to those of you considering this "school," please opt for another route towards learning a new language. The only thing they teach you at the College of Linguistics is to steer clear of cheap, unverifiable language courses.

Having found a deal on Groupon, I enrolled on the French for beginners course taught every Saturday. On the first day, we had to wait for our teacher, who was more than 30 minutes late. The classroom was tiny and VERY cramped. To make things worse, most people could not see the board as the beam supporting the ceiling was blocking the view. This was incredibly frustrating! Not the ideal learning environment! On the third week, we had a new teacher. By this point, I was so frustrated, I decided to drop out and enrolled elsewhere. I paid £59 for the course and an admin fee of £10, which was such a waste of money. I very much regret enrolling here. I just feel for those who paid full price! I would NOT recommend this place for group classes.

Absolutely atrocious service. I signed up for a beginners German course over five months ago, they never replied to any of my emails and each week I called I was told that they were just waiting for a few more people to sign up and it should be starting soon. Called today was told that "they were not running any German courses due to lack of demand" - given that it was all one-way dialogue, I do not think they would have had any intention of contacting me that they had cancelled the course. Very disappointed!

I am pretty confident they could not teach an English person how to say hello, or a Spanish to say Hola. As an organisation they are useless and essentially a bunch of thieves.

They will ask you to prepay your course and then suddenly disappear for months. No telephone call and no email will ever reach them.

So please- give them your money if you are into throwing money away. You can also send me your money in that case as these guys now owe me a refund for 6 months of no contact and no course

Communication is appaling. Purchased course a week ago, made numerous phonecalls, sent 3 or 4 emails asking to confirm - no result. My course is suppose to start today and I still have no information on what time does it begin, am I on the list, what is the address etc etc.
Complete one way communication, all from my side and absolute zero from the college.

College of linguistics is really a very great institute.Teachers are extremely kind hearted,supportive, cooperative....they encourage the students to go into the real world......

This company is closed but still fooling people into thinking they are operating! I bought a Groupon voucher for language lessons and went to the place to find is no long exist!!!

Perfect institution for learning foreign languages. Superb atmosphere and cooperative staff. Great experience and wonderful history. :)
