St Stephen's House (University of Oxford)

Some very nice rooms; others a bit poky.
Often available when others are not.

This is actually a student hostel. I rented a room here during summer holiday break when the students are away and the rooms are opened for short term rental. The room is very small and basic, typical of a student's room with study table , chair and wardrobe. No attached bathroom but common sharing bathroom. The room is comfortable, and the breakfast was fantastic at the beautiful dining hall. This is the cheaper option for accommodation at Oxford. Unusual but nice acoustic probably caused by well maintained wooden ceiling. Excellent concert with new discovery Wolf Ferrari Passionate Pianist btw) and my favourite Czech composer in the 2nd half

Cooking smells as strong as ever - but no breakfast! Don't bring 😺 to swing.
