Fantastic selection of back catalogue comics and the latest. The owner just let's you get on with it but you know if you need assistance he is there.

Prices are reasonable and there are bargains too.

I always like to make a purchase in comic book stores to support them and the industry and this is one of the best I have visited.

A great treasure trove of comic books, board games and role playing stuff like dungeons and dragons, Catan etc. The place, however, is slightly cold and damp as there seems to be no heating inside. The owner/shopkeeper is unconcerned with visitors so you can calmly browse without the intrusive "can I help you?" I enjoyed the experience as most comic book stores are closing down and going online.Totally worth a visit.

Been going to Rob of Central City for nearly a decade now, a lovely chap who's very knowledgeable on comics and board/tabletop games. Very good prices offered, always with the latest releases. No better place to get comics in the area!

A good shop with a diverse collection of comics and board games. Unfortunately the owner has made some remarks over the years that made me and other stay away from his shop. Customer service is important. I can't recommend this place anymore. At the end of the day this is a shop and no customer needs to unwelcome. My experience was a series of rude comments over the years, but this last has made me realise that it's not worth it to shop locally anymore. So I tried to be nice and engage in conversation with himas I always do, he mostly doesn't answer if is not a price related question, but anyway this time he came back with a snarky comment saying that I visit his shop only once a year on fcbd, well unfortunately for him I have about 200-300£ worth of comics and games bought from his store over the last years. A small collection in fact but still significant in my opinion. Another comment which he makes all the time on fcbd is that he can only keep it up if we buy something. I don't mind what he said, I mind the way he said it. There is no excuse for poor customer service, there are free online course that can help you. I have waited a few days to make this review to further investigate and found out that has shown poor customer service skills to a lot of people, most of them young adults. I'll like to believe that he is not discriminating and he just has a poor level of understanding customer service. In the end I wish him all the best and hope he will develop into a better person, unfortunately I'll not come to his shop anymore.

Great shop. Space (or lack thereof) forbids me from buying any more comics, but I like looking round. A lifetime ago, when this was 'The Globe', run by Dave and Steve on St Margarets Plain (don't bother looking for it - it's gone now) I was one of it's first customers, and bought stuff there every week. Glad to see Rob still in charge at Central City.

Went in there today, second ever visit. The first time wasn't great. Owner, presumably, didn't even lift his head up when I walked in .I said a friendly hello and all I got back was a reply that sounded like an unwelcome grunt , his head still facing downward. I had a browse and the only comic that caught my eye was out of reach .I didn't bother asking this gentleman for help, I just left shop without saying a word .Will not be going back to this shop again, I buy my comics from.the ebays and Forbidden Planets of this world .
