Franklyn Fields

This is an area of previously farmland grass field which has got itself sandwiched between the original village of Aylestone and a fairly modern private estate development which grew-up around the new Buckingham Drive built to service it.
It is used by the locals as a park to walk their dogs and their children to play on. There are no vehicular access points nor parking area for it. There are no facilities on it - no play equipment nor public toilet.
Unfortunately it has been scheduled for more residential development in the near future so it will be substantially affected when that goes ahead.

Decent place to walk and take the dog. Fingers crossed they don't build the houses on here any time soon
