The school is not very good. They are some good teachers but most of them are rubbish. I was a student at this school and they were saying we are the best school and all that nonsense. But they only push the students who are already clever and not the students that need help. They always talk about uniform and how it should always be tidy, while I agree with this and they are right but they enforce it too much, over the learning part, as in uniform comes first over education which is nonsense. They also have this thing called gifted and talented which only the "clever" students can go to which is nonsense because everyone in gifted and talented in a way. The supply teachers that come in are not very good as they don't teach you anything and just read from a textbook and waste our time. Another bad thing about this school is that they do not give you much praise when you do something good, however are extremely quick to sanction you if you are not in or late as they write letters to your house on the smallest things and don't pick up on the good things you do. Finally they always talk about how their students go off to Oxford and other high end universities, while this is very good but they forget about students who want to go and do an apprenticeship what happened to them? They do this to keep a good reputation and that's it and frankly they don't live up to that reputation.

Overall this school is bad in every way and I regret going to this school.

Absolutely the worst school in the borough it doesn't matter if ofsted said they are a outstanding school my child moved to this school she had the worst experience ever they really do not care about the kids who aren't gifted and talented or who aren't getting the high grades. If they see you has a problem or less able they would do any possible thing to get rid of you. Its time the community saw the real Heathland i would not recommend sending your child to this stupid school! They care more about uniform and the reputation of the school than your child actual education!

Definitely the best school that anyone could ever get accepted to!!!! I am starting my first year so Year 7 and i am already loving it!!! All the teachers are super nice and caring. Most of my friends wanted to go to this school but it was really hard to accept them because so many people were applying to Heathlands. The students there are really helpful and well mannered. You can always rely on the teacher no matter how hard the situation is. I am looking forward to the rest of my school years. Definitely a school worth applying for!!!!

I wish I can give this school 0 stars because in all honesty this is what it deserves. I was a former student in this despicable school to say the least, I'm not going to lie, some teachers are great and actually know what they're doing, but I can't say the same for everyone. Most teachers only care about the people who are more confident and outspoken and completely ignore everyone else. They only push the ones who they think are doing good in school or the ones who are loud and disruptive which is absolute nonsense and does this really reflect 'committed to excellence' that this school is said to be? I've been bullied by numerous people in this school and though they did sanction some of them by putting them in the exclusion room, some of them were free to roam around, not to even mention that the people who did go into the exclusion room, or 205 as they call it, were only there for ONE DAY. I find this utterly disappointing because bullies are in there for 1 day, however incorrect uniform, haircut, etc can cause a person to be in there for WEEKS. Not to even start on the fact that some of them were only spoken to and nothing actually happened to them. It takes them YEARS to kick out bullies and only a few minutes to exclude someone for having a phone or an inappropriate haircut. Also please may I know how hair dye, informal haircut, informal shoes, incorrect uniform and so on affect anyone's learning? No one is focusing on that stuff, but this school can't comprehend this. They also enforce discipline on the pupils which is useless because most of the students here have no discipline whatsoever, forget discipline they don't even have respect for the teachers or the other students. The teachers who genuinely want their students to learn and accomplish things, no one listens to them, despite them trying their hardest to make the pupils focus. Evidently, the school is doing a terrible job trying to discipline their students. I am ashamed of saying that I have studied in this school and if you have any brain cells, you will now know what an atrocious school this is and they need to fix up a lot of things to live up to what it likes to calls itself.

As an A Level student you expect the most attention in the school. However, the teachers, especially the deputy head focuses on uniform instead of the learning experience. Like most of these reviews, I would've given this school zero stars. I have had lessons where I haven't had a teacher, this is disgusting. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO DO MEDICINE/DENTISTRY, YOU WILL BE NEGLECTED. This is school cancels out every other career options so we essentially have no support. The school blames the students for their problems and by being there 7 years, I wouldn't ever suggest this school to ANYONE I know.

Irrationally care more about uniform and worry about what others think more than they actually care about the students education. They expect the students to do well but don't do much to support them if they are struggling. They tell you how important it is to attend every lesson and how you shouldn't be absent, but if, for example, you break your shoes and have to wear non-formal ones (which wouldn't usually stop someone from learning and concentrating); you would be sent to internal exclusion for the whole day. This is because they're scared someone would say something about the school's uniform "standards slipping". They go out of their way to stop someone from being able to learn to the best of their ability and send them to internal exclusion for something as minuscule as wearing the wrong shoes (which otherwise wouldn't affect someone's education).

As a former student of the school (Years 7-13) I believe that all the negative reviews the school has received is completely unjust.

Having been the only student that came from my primary school, I didn't know how I'd be able to adjust to secondary school life. I can honestly say that The Heathland School allowed me to increase my confidence and shaped me into the person I am today. Without all the support received from all the staff and other pupils in the years above my own I was able to experience a variety of different cultures which broadened my knowledge as well as making me more culturally aware.

I can truly say that The Heathland School provides all their students with great support during all school hours right from the minute the school is open to the last school buzzer. Teachers offer their lunchtimes to support and enhance pupil learning and never fail to help students if in need.

Without The Heathland School I feel that I would not have been able to reach and set my self the expectations and standards that I have today.
