The Co-operative Emsworth

I just wanted to say what a pleasant experience it was going into the Co-Op this morning, due to a new member of staff. I generally try to avoid it, as the staff - in the main - are miserable and unhelpful; so to be greeted by a young man with a big smile and a very cheery “Good Morning, how are you today?” was an amazingly change. The whole exchange of purchasing goods, along with a bit of cheery banter, was great and seemed to lift the mood of the rest of the queue. Here’s hoping he stays as cheery and doesn’t get pulled down by some of the rest of the staff!

I use this store almost daily, most of the staff are helpful and friendly, don't always have full shelves but appreciate that this could be down to supply chain rather than stock not being ordered.
There is one member of staff that I avoid as I find them rude and abrupt, and the post office is a pain, having to order change 24 hours in advance! Especially if you don't know you are doing to use it up.

Staff unhelpful, rude, store isn't clean & very expensive. I would rather starve than buy from co-operative. Would definitely NOT recommend!

Refused service for Non alcoholic beer at 29 years old as I didn’t have ID. Then refused to serve to my dad. Utterly ridiculous policy. The woman behind the till was also rude and is well known amongst residents as being rude. If you’re job includes doing ID checks, perhaps your staff should receive training at gaging people ages. In my view this woman just picks fights. Then had the gall to suggest we were being abusive for questioning the policy.

Local staff know many of their customers

Profiled as a shoplifting white male with a motorcycle helmet, when face was clearly visible as wearing half visor crash helmet.

Challenged by staff whom were rude and abrupt insisting that it was "The post office's policy."

If you want to have a fantastic customer experience ... don't come here.
Low stock lack of variety and company products.
I worked for the southern cooperative for four years and I have seen better in other stores.
Email will be sent to Lakeside.
Stock ends not re filled l, out of stock tabs left in when stock is in place.
I felt singled out by the team here and would highly recommend re training all the staff and ensuring thier E-learning is all up to date.

I only gave 3 stars as at the time stock was very low but I live in Emsworth and use the store often and usually the range of stock is good.

Overcharged. Item had a reduced sticker on it. Got home and realised that they had not reflected this on my bill. Annoying.
