SPAR - Colchester

Its just a supermarket I suppose, they've got a nice variety of products there which is handy. Only problem is that there is a minimum spend for cards or you have to pay a charge on top which is annoying.

EDIT: They have updated it so that there isn't a minimum spend on cards anymore but i still rate it 4 stars due to pricing, and at certain times the price of tobacco is even higher than normal. Staff are really decent and friendly, always have a chat with them.

Friendly staff, prices are not too high but higher than some, but is to be expected of an convience store. No access issues and usually well stocked. Often have nice little deals dotted about.

Sold me a pasta meal and it melted the plastic dangerous to eat and so rude about giving me a refund said I cooked it wrong but did not on instructions it said to pierce the film lid remove sleeve and place on a baking tray. Item was totally melted and full of molten plastic when cooked.

Was Saturday night 2nd of July. I was sober and on my own with crutches. I thought not been to spar for a few years and fancied a frozen pizza. Big mistake before I knew it this guy had crept up on me asking if he could help. When I explained he didn't even understand me and tried to sell me something I didn't want. I felt discriminated against and treated like a criminal I was only in the shop about a minute before he crept up on me.
Now if I had been racist I would have been the 1st in a police car will avoid like the plauge.

This is a really good convenience store which is reasonably well stocked with most of the essentials. Nice friendly staff who have helped me not only find the things I wanted but searched them out for me. It is a bit tight around the aisles but has places to avoid other shoppers here and there. Very happy with it and glad it there. Recommended

Rude staff

Staff were very helpful, I was using their Hermes parcel printer for the first time.

Pick your phone up. My card got robbed and you let them spend it all here
