The friendliest corner shop! Everyone here is always extremely helpful and the shop has a peaceful, friendly atmosphere. No one ever gets impatient no matter how busy it gets. Exceptional!

There is a friendly atmosphere in Rakhs News where both the customers and the shopkeepers have the confidence to chat and banter amongst each other. This Cornershop uses every inch of space to display its products however the store doesn’t feel claustrophobic or messy. They also have an impressive variety of pickled good from pickled onions to pickled peas as well as a wide range of Polish, Romanian and Slovakian goods that seems to be a USP that sets this Cornershop apart from the others in the area. As Cornershop’s go, although the lollipops were fairly hard to find, I do think that this particular shop does embody everything a Cornershop should be; it sells all the bare necessities, has social value and is an integral community hub.

Friendly owners, however I notice they short pay me quite often and look at you weird if you correct them. Sure 1p, 2p, 10p is not much but it does accumulate. I brought a bottle of water for 69p and I gave one of them 80p and he gives me 6p back. So I pulled a strange face and he said you gave me 80p ... EXACTLY, so why did I receive that amount?. But I left it anyway because it's not a major deal but it does get annoying when it happens one too many times.
