AVOID! Appalling customer service. They place price labels on items in the store and when you pay for them they charge you more and do not honour the price they advertised on the label. When you ask to pay the price advertised the staff are rude and refuse. Will NEVER go here again. SCREW peacock ******s

I used to shop here most nights spending at least £100 a week in the shop. I stopped going there when two of the staff started talking about me in their own language [Tamil] every time I went in. I later realised that they were over charging me, and when I brought this to their attention they said they made a mistake, then proceed to do it again. I can only presume they were egging each other on to over charge me, and if they were doing it with me, I assume they are doing it with others. I will never spend another penny in that shop.

Try to overcharge me every time, presumably because I'm white-presenting and have a haircut (despite the fact I'm neither white and don't actually have money). Also are super rude.

They overcharge you here. I paid almost double here for two items that were priced a lot cheaper in the other store further down ladywell high street. I left my bag at home and was charged 11 p for a tiny black plastic bag that barely fitted in what I had purchased. I will never shop here again. It's just not a nice feeling knowing you can't be sure if you are being charged fairly.

They refuse Paypoint services and lie about the machine being broken. Unless you are topping up gas/electric with cash they refuse to programme the cards/keys as per utility company request or instruction for discretionary top up as we are isolating. My helper has been to all three shops on the strip including PEACOCK Food and wine and they are of the same attitude re Paypoint services. I have experienced this alot over the past 9 years and have today reported them (Peacock Food and Wine Ladywell Road) to Paypoint directly. They also pretend not to speak fluent English if you have an issue or get loud to embarrass you in front of other customers. I am now without gas tonight because they are saying topups only when the gas company have issued me a code for the shop to input on my card. The gas company cannot come till tomorrow. I literally went back with the company on the phone (Eon) then the employee said he can't speak to them and to come back tomorrow. Meanwhile I have a sick child at home, no gas and a cold house. So frustrating. They also on occassion pretend not to do gas or electric depending on tlehat the request is. IE Non monetary transactions or inputting data on key which is not true as I topped up my gas and electric last week no trouble (Boss was in shop) . They also do not honour special offers and are rude to customers especially when you have any requests pertaining to gas or electric that the machine is design d for that they won't profit from. Smh Same story with Village News when the boss is absent.
