Didnt have a mask, mc colls is my local store. was made to pay 8 quid for 5 masks. When asked, no other masks were being sold, halfway around the store in my ill-fitting over expensive mask there were masks available for £4. When I pointed this out to the gentleman he didn't even look at me, " oh sorry" he mumbled. Another said "at least you have 5!" Great! 5 re-washable masks! I dont have a family or kids so tell me why 5? Why sell 5 masks at a time!!! How dirty is ones face that one needs 5 re-washable masks?! I spent £15 and I baught bread, butter and milk. Disgusting. Also, the fridges have been out of use for a long time so instead of telling customers with a nice sign outside, they make you waste your time coming into the shop before you realise the drinks in the fridge are warm, theres no fresh food, no milk no butter ect ect.... thanks for helping the locals Mc Colls

I agree that most of the staff are very pleasant but myself and my family have all had occasions when the manager has been downright rude. I’ve actually never seen her smile. What is she doing in this job.

The manager wants to try smile and say please and thank you never enough staff on most of the staff are well spoken and polite and always one person on till Sat 4 to 5 people queuing and Lisa the manager was stacking shelves and her side kick Elaine is just as bad can be rude and abrupt def needs new management

See a lot of reviews about the staff, I have to say I’ve had no issues and being a local they always say hello and are nothing but polite.

Small shop in village with quite high prices and a lot of food discounted because almost out of date. Even those prices are dearer than nearby supermarkets. Very handy in an emergency though and the Post Office counter is a god send

If I could give it zero stars I would, shop was dirty and a mess. Staff unfriendly and unhelpful. Tried to get a hot drink from the Costa machine, it wasn't working, I asked the lady behind the till, she was disinterested and said I don't how it works....why doesn't she? She works there, a lack of training? Not interested? Probably both. She called a young male over, he seemed friendlier, machine needed cleaning so I didn't get my drink. There was no offer of I will clean it now and maybe wait 5 minutes, I left without anything. Wont return.

Someone said that the staff here were rude. Not so! All but one (and she probably knows who she is) are very friendly, courteous and professional. The stock is good, especially the vegetables. It's good to have a small post office in the village, open when the shop is. Thank you, McColl's.
