Bildeston Village Stores and Post Office

Stopped here on 12/3/19 whilst passing through Bildeston, had a takeaway coffee which was good, but the sausage roll was one of the worst I have ever had, can't believe that a village shop would sell something so tasteless when most shops have caught on now about selling good, homemade or locally sourced tasty produce.

I've been a local resident for a couple of years now and have always noted a complete impersonal style of service. I say 'Hello' and nothing.... I say 'goodbye', and nothing... or sometimes a barely audible response. It isnt unusual for no response at all.
However, they are all often too keen to ask you if you are looking for anything if you browse just abit too long... I know I'm not wrong... they have everything you need at the shop on the up side... apart from a welcoming service with a smile. I think they just want you to leave as soon as possible to be honest.

Don't know why I bothered wearing a mask and obeying the law, this shop was serving customers who didn't have masks on.
It's such a small little shop and the mask-less customers didn't make me or my daughter feel safe.
Non of the staff challenged them or even politely pointed it out. Disappointed!

I stop here every so often on the way home from work ,did today. I have to say the staff are not very welcoming & pretty rude. I always hesitate to stop but when I do I'm reminded why I don't want to. I know I'm not local, I am an outdoor worker so obviously dirty but customer service should be paramount.
I will not stop again, I would rather detour than accept the sloppy and rude, customer service again

Great little local store and post office. Well run and a major assest to the community.

Good quality food although high prices.
I’ve had experiences where the shop sells gone off food for free. There are some workers who are very inexperienced.

A thoughtfully run local store providing an incredible range of products in a small space. Locally sourced meat; high quality veg and local seasonal produce; a well stocked fridge and freezer selection; coffee and hot snacks; post office and stationary, the list goes on.
I've always found the owners and staff friendly and helpful, such an improvement on the previous ownership.
