Tuffins Supermarket

This is by no means any reflection of the chap working on the till today. This is more to do with the management of the store. Someone is trying to make big money by keeping staff numbers low which is affecting the speed and efficiency of their service. Every single time I’ve been here there has only ever been one person working on the tills serving a queue of at least 10 customers. I try avoid shopping here for that reason. Today is the last time I’ll visit. I popped in to pick up some cigarettes only to be faced with another long queue with a very overwhelmed but polite chap in his late 30’s working alone. If it’s of any interest, he has neck tattoos. Didn’t get his name, but he deserves some sort of medal. Gotta admire him, in his efforts to serve as many customer as possible, he was overcharging by mistake, flustered and quite frankly in out of his depth but he continued working in a friendly and professional manner. I’d have walked out of that job by now. 5 stars to him personally but 2 to whomever is in charge of management. No one should be put on the shop floor at a peak time like that without support. After setting payment up for me on the self service desk, he completely forgot to hand me the cigarettes and continued to serve at least 3 customers before I stepped in to remind him. I don’t blame him. My head would be up my arse too if I was under appreciated and made to work like a donkey in a desert for minimum wage. My brother worked here previously and I’ve heard the staff are expected to do the impossible and made to feel useless when they don’t meet unrealistic expectations. My experience each time I’ve shopped here proves just that. I will avoid here in future unless I have no choice.

Only place in Welshpool you can pay TV & waterbills, staff helpful. Stocks most items but is more of a mini store than a big supermarket.

Great new setup. Clean and tidy - Everything needed from fuel to hot and cold food and drinks. Conveniently situated.

Popped down for fuel, quick bite and coffee. No complaints. Toilets are clean and staff members easygoing.

Stopped here after a football game in Newtown and up until then I'd never been impressed by a petrol garage!
Diesel was 179p and the shop had some really decent stuff. The fizzy pop section was very impressive.
The member of staff helping our with the self service grocery & petrol was very polite and patient!

Amazing shop. All the food expected in a large, clean store. Orange Juice machine, Slush Puppie machine and a Costa Express. Very fast tills. All around, a great experience and I would recommend if you are in the area.
