Really impressed by this dental practice. Dr. Amit Patel was my dentist and he was so thorough and transparent in every step of my assessment and necessary procedures. Having just moved to the area it is so refreshing to have a dentist that is so forthcoming about options and costs. Would recommend this practice to anyone-- seriously blown away by their level of care.

I heard great things about this dental practice and so I registered my daughter here. However, the entire experience was rushed and very awkward. We turned up for our appointment and the dentist was Mr Patel, he greeted us and said hello and began examining her teeth! He barely even looked at her teeth, just a quick look! he then stopped to go this computer to type and he looks up at me and says is she experiencing any problems? I explain she has been having pain and other issues. He then stops to look quickly again and looks back at me and says I’ll print you leaflet 😂. I asked does my daughter not need to come in for a clean (hygienist appointment) He then proceeds to say no. He then tries to get us to see another dentist for a treatment she needs. All the while i’m stood up, no seat was provided for me, I was stood in the corner awkwardly. The entire appointment was literally under 6 minutes. My daughter is a child he barely acknowledged her or me. I can understand that he may have been short for time but this was my daughter’s first time meeting him, the whole experience was strange for both of us and we are a little apprehensive about our next visit.

A very supportive experience having two implants fitted. I was well looked after, every step was explained to me and I felt no discomfort at all. After care was well explained and I felt confident when leaving the building.

The overall appointment was decent and the dentist was kind, however the issue is in regards of the price. Online the first appointment for new patients is 34, with a deposit of 15, which I did. After the visit they told us that the price for the visit was almost £70, because they did additional services during the appointment. You should tell the client what you are going to do and that the initial price on the website doesn’t cover all that will be done during the visit. How is the client suppose to know they are going to pay double of what the website says if the dentist do not specify it? During the visit the dentist just mentioned that he was going to do a complete visit, and my brother ofc thought it was covered in the pre-stabilised price.

Very difficult to get an appointment. When I did, it took so long that my cavity suddenly needed a root canal. This was bizarre in itself because even the dentist seemed unsure and kept expressing that it might be better instead of a filling even though it wasn't 100% clinically supported. I definitely felt pressured and there was a note of scaremongering. As a nervous patient, I felt obliged to go along. I can see why people have complained that the dentist is more focused on money grabbing and keen to force bigger treatments than required.

Once the root canal was done they suggested a crown. The dentist was very rude, not explaining anything properly. Acted rushed and had an abrupt manner. No reassurance, no conversation. When he started mentioning the colour of the crown I said that I thought it was supposed to be white to which he scoffed and looked incredulous as though I was a fool. He was dismissive and said he will call me after checking with a colleague so I could make a further appointment. I was not contacted for months. When I did finally go back myself, lo and behold the tooth was now beyond a crown and needed removing.

This isn't the first time I have had issues with crowns. My previous crown from here became infected underneath and when I went to another practise for an emergency appointment, they were shocked at how poorly the crown had been done. Knighton did not take any responsibility and didn't offer any resolution. It had to be removed and the tooth removed. Perhaps it is easier for them to perform a removal than offer anything else to fix the issue.
Just a couple of examples from a catalogue of unprofessional treatment.

Overall not a professional practice. I don't recommend.

Quite rubbish customer service for both NHS and non NHS patients. I'm a paying patient & two years ago I visited this dentist as regards having a few teeth reshaped. I was told they could be done after I had them straightened. I have completed the straightening (for which I went elsewhere) & came back to ask about reshaping. The receptionist at first told me they don't do reshaping, only composite fillings (which would make my teeth even larger which I don't want). I then asked her to check as the dentist told me he was happy to do it. She said she would check with him & call me. Guess what, she never did. So they have lost me as a customer just through this rubbish lack of contact. She also came across as disinterested when I spoke to her. There are plenty of other dentists in Leicester who do offer reshaping, thankfully, so I will go elsewhere in future for all my dental needs. Also the dentist I have chosen is simply out of this world in terms of customer service, surroundings (which are nothing short of luxurious!), and overall quality of care. I was treated so well it was unbelievable. I was blown away by the difference between that dentist & this one, where most staff come across as arrogant & unhelpful. Secondly my mum is an NHS patient. Today she was bullied into spending north of £10K on her teeth by a dentist here. When she said she was an NHS patient so why was the dentist pushing her to take out such expensive treatment, he simply said nothing. Pathetic and disgusting practice, especially when we're all going through a cost of living crisis. I despise this organisation & I will now ensure my mum finds a suitable alternative elsewhere. Please don't bother posting the typical canned reply asking me to contact the practice further, why would I in these circumstances? Disgraceful place. I strongly urge everyone to look elsewhere for a better dentist, believe me they do exist & only a few miles away.

Your reception staff have been amazing getting me in fast when I needed a tooth checking. Both times I got in the same day. Whilst I feel the tooth is still not right I have to give 5 stars to the receptionists

Great service. Staff are always helpful and polite. My dentist is great and the level of customer care is 10 out of 10.
Had a bridge done. Very very happy with the results. So glad I with this dental surgery.
