Rochgate Cottages

We spent a week in the first cottage Eynon's Cottage - a two bedroomed stone cottage ideal for couples or a small family. Our hosts were very welcoming (although we didn't meet them in person) ensuring the heating was on when we arrived and they'd provided delicious homemade Welsh Cakes and Bara Brith on the dining table which was a pleasant homely touch. We stayed at the end of February into March, and it got pretty cold as you'd expect in an old cottage, but the electric heaters in every room and a little electric fire in the stone fireplace in the living room kept us warm. The hosts also provided toiletries in the bathroom and tea making ingredients etc in the kitchen which was also another homely little gesture. There's free WiFi which is pretty fast and there are USB ports in the bedrooms to charge devices. The only minor issue in the property was the water pressure seemed rather weak but this didn't stop us using the shower and taps. Although the cottage is situated on a through road in the village of Roch, there's not much traffic to be concerned about and it's a quiet and peaceful place to stay. If you're driving, there's plenty of parking at the rear of the cottages and a bus stop around the corner so you can use the local buses if necessary. Newgale beach is the closest, but there's plenty of good road links to get about further afield. There's a small shop across the road although at present it's only open in the morning.

A little home-from-home, in a quiet village presented by thoughtful hosts. Would stay here again and recommend to others.
