On behalf of my mum who is disabled in a wheelchair. Wanted to return keys, told by council in town to come here, so did so and she was told to phone, when finally answered told to post at grafton house. Absolutely shameful, as she could have done so when she was there originally. Complained, and just told to make a complaint on line. Such a waste of time!

Thank you so much to Sherry for helping us secure a new home after we were given notice in our current one 10 months in. I was able to speak to Sherry about it very calmly despite the worrying situation we were in and Sherry was able to offer lots of suggestions to look into and spoke to an estate agent for us after there were some issues with the referencing to sort it out. We now have a new home to move into and also a way to help us ensure that should this ever happen to us again we can secure housing in the local area. Can't thank her enough, thank you again Sherry for everything you've done for us and for being so kind and wonderful!

I received an email requesting confirm my details, including copy of passport and ext. When I called them they don’t know who was that even when I told them the email address it came through. Manager supposed to call me back but never did. I will never pay council tax again… Period.. It is tuned by bunch of kids and unaccountable managers. It is a joke. I would advise everyone to stop paying them until they will get their house in order

Council that campaigns for 'city' status but cannot even seem to provide basic facilities for its residents, such as adequate bottle banks or repaired pavements. I was living down a main street all of 2 miles long, but not a single bottle bank from one end to the other. All the side streets seem to be impassable on the pavement outside usual working hours, because of pavement parking, even outside primary & nursery schools. Ipswich's uneven paving is appalling & the worst I've encountered outside Eastern Europe - how I survived there for over 2 years with only 1 fall over dodgy kerbing is something of a miracle. It's made all the worse because of the policy to turn off all street lighting for 7 hours every night. This might be an acceptable cutback in a village, but in an urban centre with so many industrial estates operating 24/7, it makes the plight of the shiftworker very precarious. (Not to mention the problem of drug- related street crime throughout Ipswich). The official Council website is facilitated to complain about just about anything, but it is a waste of time as they do not accept responsibility for any issues, from those mentioned, to issues of housing & social services, (on which IBC has an appalling record...)

appalling telephone system and procedure just to pay a parking fine. Took several attempts over several days and cost £35.00 more than it should have done. This outfit unfit for purpose.

3 times I have tried to call IBC. Each time I was on hold for around 40-50 minutes. I think their lunch break must be in Australia. Have given up trying to contact them. They just DON'T answer !

Now a child has been killed by damp and mould in a council house perhaps IBC will actually do their job and ensure residents live in safe homes

My upstairs neighbor had a leak, the water was coming through my ceiling. She wasn't at home and I tried to call the council as hers is a council flat, they didn't pick up the phone, kept saying the lines are all busy, which was frustrating as my kitchen was getting destroyed. Luckily some council workers had their breaks outside my buliding so I ran to them ask for help. They didn't mind not having their break and came to help without any complain, and tried to help in any way they could, they even came back later to check how everything was. Then I had to call the council, the lady I talked to was extremely helpful and kind, she even called me back as she promised, which doesn't ever happen anymore. All these people showed me compassion and kindness and helped me through this incredibly difficult day.I am very grateful to them, they are a true credit to Ipswich Borough Council.
