Okay so the woods are beautiful, but very creepy there only some marked tracks you're allowed to go. And we went in a season of blue bells and guess what no blue bells at all..

If you want to see breathtaking bluebell woods look no further. There are acres of these magnificent protected flowers set amid a glorious wood just emerging into leaf in Hitchwood Lane near Gosmore a charming village with two pubs near Hitchin where you can enjoy a pub lunch. There is a car park near the woods and you can enjoy walks along designated footpaths.

Lovely wood. Sadly they've now closed off the majority of it to allow it to regrow/recover. Gets very busy, particularly since Covid, when people started discovering the countryside. Very small car park - only holds about 6 cars.

We happened to go when the Bluebells were out so it was extremely busy and difficult to parl. I would suggest coming early as the car park is very small. But we did a lovely circular route here

Plenty of trails to walk on so you can come back and visit here many times and it doesn’t get old.

I've not long moved to this area of the country so thought I would explore. My dog isn't that friendly so I give people a nice distance so I thought I would go off the paths. I was enjoying the walk and then we got lost. Was lost for over 3 hours. I was actually preparing myself for sleeping there the night. I did start to panic. When the sun was going I started shouting for help. I was walking 20-30 steps and really shouting loud. 40 mins into this I spotted someone and they gave me directions out of the place. I love a challenge and this definitely was one. I do plan on returning at some point

Fantastic scenery as the bluebells are out and it looks beautiful, always visit with the children who like to investigate the dens that are made from the trees.
