I was so disappointed when I visted the crematatorium a couple of days ago. My dad has a plaque in Lawn 57 and all around the ground was completely full of weeds. My brother went today and also commented on it and said it was the same around the lake.

I have been visiting here for 24 years and I have never seen it looking so unkempt.

I know times are hard in the council but this really is a sad state of affairs.

I cant believe how disrespectful some people can be. For the 2nd time this has happened where my mums plaque is, everything has been taken, they were not encroaching on anyones space as I wouldn't do that , and after the first time I cable tiedg gifts to a strong bo beep hook inside the vase, such a lovely well kept place. People need to be respectful of others

We have been coming here for years to tend our plot,we have two Sons interred here,we have always found the staff very nice and respectful. The grounds are always well kept, with new planting taking place. The tea room is great, and the staff always cheerful and friendly, it's like a little oasis for people who have come a long way especially in winter time.

We had a dignified and moving committal ceremony recently which was led by Paul who was gracious and respectful to our mother's ashes and to us. He read two very poignant poems and facilitated my sister to bury the ashes.
The occasion was the day after the funeral and it felt a very appropriate final farewell: a sunny day, the birds were singing, the lawn area was well maintained just as our Dad would like and the trees were beautiful. Our mother's ashes are buried in the same area as our fathers, and it felt right to unite them in such a peaceful area near a tree and bench seat.

My father has been laid to rest here at the beautiful grounds at South Essex. The service was short & had nice prayers said. While I reside in the usa, it is a comfort to know I can visit anytime in such a peaceful environment...... Thanks to south essex Crematorium.

Having had to bury so many of my family here, I am so disappointed on how the area down by the lake has been allowed to deteriorate, mainly the stream that runs into the lake, which now looks like waste land, we all pay a huge amount of money to have a memorial at the crematorium, the least they could do is keep it looking nice, or give an explanation on why this area now looks like it does.

£196 To transfer grave ownership from my grandad to me so i can inter my father. Then i will be charged £520 fir the internment.I have had a stone put onto the grave i now own where i will pay fir my father to be interred. Then they charge Me£337 JUST for the right for the stonemason to walk into the cemetry and erect the new memorial.Whenever you ring to chase up them not getting back to you ,you get the "were exceptionally busy covid" excuse.
At a very difficult time the lack of compassion and the obvious drive for ££££££ is sad and disapointing.
