Agree with the previous marker at 1 star- Absolutely terrible service and Mr Tricks was over-friendly with the police (despite being a so-called defence solicitor). He also spent the entire interview sending emails on his laptop rather than listening or directing on questions designed to incriminate the attendee eg with vague responses. Returned to obtain important case documents later to find a run down closed cupboard; they are probably using the address as a PO /mailbox not an office like a professional successful business would. If you are someone who is asked to attend an interview in Exeter, for the sake of your future I would seriously recommend searching outside of Devon if you want the slightest chance to save your future - do not recommend this firm whatsoever. Could have done a better job myself.

After missing a court date, I contacted BTL to see if they could offer assistance. Someone at the company said to me on the phone that they would contact the court for an adjournment, and when I phoned back later that day I was told "this is how we deal with it, I've emailed the court, once we know about adjournment, we'll be in touch to discuss fees and any mitigating circumstances that can be brought to court."

Imagine my surprise, when 2 weeks later I received a call from the court to say would I mind coming in at 2pm today rather than 3. By the looks of it I had been overlooked and would have to represent myself.

When arrived at court and spoke to the court official, he was somewhat amused that I would be representing myself and that I had no solicitor. By chance Mr Tricks of BTL was in court that very day! He took me to a side room to attempt to figure it out. I wasn't on their system and he couldn't imagine who O had spoken to. A shade of beetroot was assumed when I presented my phone records from 2 weeks past with 2 phone calls to their office, both lasting some minutes.

He allowed me to leave the room to get some signal and he walked past nonchalantly saying "good luck John"...

I can only speak of my own experience with BoyleTricksLeonard and that experience was in fact disasterous, unprofessional and also quite rude from what I could hear from his phone call to the office. The word "Tosser" was used as he looked at me. If Mr Tricks would like to respond and deny any of the things I have said, I truly look forward to it.

Signed

Oh and btw, it was damage limitation only representing yourself to the magistrate.

6 month ban and self employed.
