A good evening to be had at Christmas time

Came to the terminal where they had their Christmas Event, and unfortunately wasn't very impressed.
Such a large space, with little to it, and mostly old cars, took 10 minutes if that to go around it and back out.

My family and I went on Christmas Eve to Christmas Wonderland. A great way to spend a fantastic family time together. Had fun on the ice rink and amusements. Good choices for something to eat and drink. Free parking and no entry fee, happy days. Some selection of stalls all in a beautiful old building a former marine station. Well worth a visit and would recommend.

This place has no business hosting cruise ships, they have nowhere near the infrastructure to handle an inbound ship. My family and I have been waiting over two hours in a taxi line for one of the three taxis they have in the entire town. I asked a local official if it is like this every time a ship comes in and they said “Yes, this is a small town, not designed to host a ship of this size”. If you are on a ship where your last port is Dover, be sure to hire a car service in advance as that is the only way you can get out of this place in any reasonable amount of time. The Dover Cruise Terminal does not warn of this situation on their website. The people working here were very friendly but the service is terrible.

Sailed from here to NORWAY it was so easy 50 yds from the cruise ship bags out the car they were taken care of almost immediately then we hoarded after a couple of easy checks straight to our room . How it should be ,a big thanks to all concerned

Small but well organised! We went on a Carnival cruise and the arrival and check in process was smooth, as was departure. There wasn't much airflow so on a warm day was a bit stuffy.

Arrival - taxi / car drop off was right at the entrance and the security and check in hall was spacious and moved well

Departure - baggage collection and departure hall was large. Escalators and elevators were available. Once outside, the taxi queue was very organised with no wait time and other transport options seemed well organised.

The terminal staff themselves were great, warm and welcoming, just shockingly let down by the car park company CPS.
