To whom it may concern,
I attended your practice on the 26/05/22 with very painful tooth ache, I was seen by one of the lovely ladies upstairs (not my regular dental practitioner who is in the room downstairs) she advised that she would take X-rays to see what was causing such pain.
Once the X-rays came through she asked me to come round to the computer to examine the images which I was very shocked to have seen and be told what was causing the pain. She explained that the top tooth was filled so far down that it was touching the nerve and the below tooth (on the same left hand side) the filling has been placed to be resting on my gum, my wisdom teeth had ruptured also another reason for the pain which I had thought my normal dental practitioner had referred me to have them removed in 2021 but as I had not heard anything of it I thought I would still be waiting to be called to the relevant department to have them removed. He advised after the procedure that the feeling of sensitivity would go within a few days to a week but never did and now I know what that reason was. The lady upstairs advised me to take antibiotics to help with the swelling of my gums and said i will not being seen again until 2 weeks later due to the Queen’s jubilee knowing that I was in a lot of pain but I thought I had no choice.
That same evening and all through the night/ early hours the next morning I was in complete agony, in two minds of going to A&E, travelling to Asda to find numbing cream and having a sleepless night was a very unpleasant experience. I rang the practice that morning of the 27/05/22 first thing demanding to be seen ASAP, in floods of tears with the pain I was experiencing but thankfully your receptionist managed to get me an appointment straight away. The girls on the desk were lovely, could not fault them and I apologised for being so demanding but as you can imagine at this point I was desperate and would have done anything to take the pain away. I would have loved to have hugged the second lady I saw for everything she did, couldn’t thank her enough.
I have attended this afternoon 09/06/22 to have the temporary filling removed and refilled but first I had another X-ray so that the dental practitioner upstairs could see what had been done 2 weeks before. I told her of my painful experience which she sympathised with me and apologised many times which I was very grateful but how disappointed I was going through this process, I feel very let down especially when you put your trust into people to help keep your teeth healthy. I feel that being a professional you would know the consequences of putting a filling touching a nerve, a filling sitting on your gum and seeing that your customers wisdom teeth are coming through.
With these mistakes being made have caused me to suffer the consequences greatly firstly for trusting a professional dental practitioner who would have known what would happen in the long run when he did the procedure but yet ignored, having a great fear on the dentist anyway but the procedures were rushed, suffering greatly with agonising pain to be left for nearly 2 weeks if I hadn’t demanded to be seen and also being quoted £259 today out of my hard earned money to fix a so called professionals mistake.
I was passed your email when I attended today as I want to be assured that we can come to an agreement before I have more procedures done at your practice after having such a unpleasant experience. I have raised this issue to citizens advice and I am well in my rights to ask for this to be done free of charge or could claim the money back but please be aware that I have no care for claiming money back I just want to be shown the compassion to resolve this issue with your customer.
I hope to hear from you soon.
When I arrived the Dentist complained that it was the end of her shift, and stated she wished I had not been given an appointment at 5pm.
Despite being a qualified Dentist herself she was reluctant to look at me because 'my' Dentist was not there. This should not have been an issue, and I have only had treatment here once before.
I had to ask for an x-ray, which was taken, but the Dentist was unable to be clear about what she could see, and could not offer any advice.
I was however given a prescription for antibiotics, yes I am glad I have these incase things get worse and I do get clear signs of infection, however not everyone would be as responsible and could take them when they were not necessary (an ever growing concern for Doctors & Health Professionals).
I am seriously concern !!!
Please be aware
