Absolutely terrible service from this practice,
I had a emergency appointment for 2pm I was there for 1.45pm. I was told to wait outside till 2pm cause they were having dinner (fair enough)
2pm come and the receptionist was watching me outside in the rain and cold until 2.15pm.
When I went in I was told to stand in the corner like a disease and was asked more about covid and how I was going to pay for there service’s.
Eventually I sat down, told to open my mouth he then prodded my tooth to were the pain serious hit.
Then I was told there’s nothing they could do but give me a prescription for antibiotics and to ring the Nhs dental practice for another appointment elsewhere.
Still in absolute agony and £14 down for the experience

Always says my teeth are bad to the point he will not treat me on nhs. And I have to pay private?? Have looked on nhs site and this is apparently not allowed. Will be having a word when up next. Been in pain now for a couple of weeks but can't afford £100. To take a Tooth out.

I agree with previous reviews. Been a patient here for over 20 years and up until this year, never had a problem. But have now been told I can't have NHS treatment due to gum disease but can pay privately. Have never been told there was a problem with my teeth or gums. This surgery obviously now only wants to treat private patients.

Not sure if this Lee Mcmeekin has some kind of agenda. I've never had a problem with my teeth but this fella has been going on about my gums for the last few years. The last appointment I had he asked me "do you even brush your teeth?", and said that he thought I was going to lose them and needed to see him 4 monthly. My colleague told me many similar stories about him from her friends and family and told me to read the awful reviews.
3 weeks ago I went to a highly rated private dentist in Tongwynlais and today to Ardent in Pontypridd, as an NHS patient. To summarise, they kept commenting how solid my teeth are and that they are going to last me deep into old age. They don't want to see me for a year.
This Lee Mcmeekin damaged the nerve on my 24 year old son's tooth which needed £800 pounds worth of remedial work in Spire after painful weeks of waiting and him being unable to correct it.
But being balanced Mr. Mcmeekin did a sticky filling for me during covid times which has lasted well.
His "bedside" manner is fine, he's not intimidating and I find him polite enough. I didn't like the way the staff watch you outside in the rain with the doors locked when it's time for your appointment. I've jumped ship and Gone as an NHS patient to Ardent in Pontypridd.

Absolutely disgusted with this dentist. Practically had to beg to be taken out of pain which resulted in 1/2 part of a route canal in my front tooth in 2020. Was told he couldn’t fit me in for the second part for 6 months (2021). I was left with a huge hole in the back of my tooth where food was constantly getting stuck and rotting away. I then went back 6 months later for my route canal to be told it was a check up only! He blocked the back of my tooth up finally, and to my surprise it went bright yellow! He then told me he couldn’t fit me in for a year (until 2023) for the second part and left my with a bright yellow front tooth. Went to a private dentist and had to pay £600 to repair the botched job Lee had done. They were in disbelief that he had done this! avoid at all costs

Really shocking that Lee is allowed to continue practicing as a dentist. I went in for a check up and was told I had a bad case of gum disease in over half of my mouth and would need intervention to save my gums. Found this surprising so paid privately with another dentist and they said my teeth and gums were perfect!! Now reading some other reviews I am appalled, it appears he is either trying to get people to pay his private costs or he really is just clueless.. either wayi cannot believe it. When the young dentist (Tom?) was there he was fantastic, literally the best dentist I've ever had. Seems he mightve left which is why this practice has gone downhill. This Lee needs reporting!!

I have always had a private scrape and polish with my check ups. In February this year I had my first appointment post lockdown. I was told I have a build up of plaque and tartar, and showing signs of gum disease. I was offered a private scrape and polish but the cost had increased from £40 - £105. I was told in order to qualify for the NHS equivalent treatment, I would need to follow day to day guidance set out by the dentist to which I agreed. I returned to the practice in August having religiously followed the guidance since my last appointment. Although there was a marked improvement, there was still a build up present(hence why I always get a scrape and polish buy hey ho). In a nutshell I was again refused NHS treatment, and offered the private scrape and polish which has now increased from £105 - £120. I asked what else do I need to do to qualify for the NHS treatment. In a nutshell I was told to quit smoking. I appreciate that quitting smoking will give me many benefits but that is my choice, and for me to consider and pursue in my own time. I shouldn't be held to ransom by my dentist for it, and when did the NHS start discriminating against smokers anyway! Discrimination against my legal life choices. In addition, the NHS guidance I have read stipulates that a dentist can not offer a private treatment in place of a refused NHS treatment of the same type. I have made an official complaint with the NHS about this, and I encourage anyone who has experienced anything similar with this dentist to do the same.

Every time I go he always complains about my teeth and gums, he says they are terrible. However I went to the orthodontist a few days ago and they said my teeth and gums were fine. He also left me with a small hole in my tooth and said he is going to leave it 3 months before he was going to fill it. He gave me the option to go private with the NHS to get it filled because he wouldn't do it.
