But the reception and administration for this dentist have treated me very poorly in my time of need.
I had a bad and traumatic accident where I’ve broken my jaw in two places. I really needed to see a dentist for my tooth trauma but they advised me my dentist was on holiday for two weeks. I thought it was odd they didn’t just offer me to see someone else considering my situation. I asked to see someone else and they had to check if that was ok first, this was obviously distressing to me that they were happy for me to wait just because my dentist is on holiday? The soonest I could see another dentist was a weeks time, and they would take a £65 deposit from me, I asked if I could get the deposit back if I found somewhere else to see me sooner and they told me that would be fine.
I found another dentist who would see me that same day so I went and started to get the help I need elsewhere. I rang back the next day to cancel my appointment and they asked me why, so I explained again what happened, put me on hold…
I then get told that my deposit would be transferred to my upcoming hygienist appointment, I’ve been getting hygienist appointments every 3 months at this dentist without paying a deposit. I just said I want my money back and they were making it difficult for me in my already difficult time.
I’m now waiting for my cheque to arrive and it’s been nearly 2 weeks. I asked if I could just have it transferred back to me and they said it’s against company policy.
I think the receptionist team could have been a bit more understanding and compassionate towards my situation from the start. I have my jaw banded shut and I’m in a lot of pain, it’s already very difficult to talk and the team really didn’t treat me well. I have found another dentist who sees me alongside a maxillofacial surgeon who charge me way less and help me very quickly.
I miss my dentist but the way the company is run and with no compassion to each situation is really distressing.
I have been at the Hemel Smile Studios for two years and I’ve never had an issue like this.
I think you could have been more compassionate and been better at communicating throughout the process considering unique situations.
