Most rude receptionist I've dealt with in a while. Very unhelpful. After I asked for a price for something the answer I got was "not really" and after asking general questions about appointment the very sarcastic answer was "we are a dentist you know". I was calling with a query and I wasn't rude at all and at the end she slam the phone down on me.

We have been with Hughes & Owen at Swadlincote for several years now and have always found all the staff to be friendly and helpful, especially our dentist Mark. I had a broken tooth fixed by him today and the whole process from calling this morning to book the appointment, to having the tooth fixed was stress free and painless, cannot thank them enough, excellent service throughout.

I have a general fear of dentist but thus practice is excellent. John Hanshaw is an excellent dentist and always makes me feel at ease. Very welcoming and friendly. The nurses are exactly the same

Just explain to the dental practice that you’re nervous and anxious, communicate with them and explain.

The dentist and the dental assistant I saw where extremely friendly. They both involved me in conversation which took my mind off what was happening. answered all my stupid pointless questions! Thank you! I honestly can’t say anything bad about those two people!

Prior to Covid, having signed up to a monthly payment plan and successfully had some general dental work completed, I requested a price for some more complex work to be completed. I have now waited for a quote for over 3 years and still waiting, so now that the main Covid scare is over, I've contacted again to chase up the quote and book a check up. As a result of my enquiry I find out that, although I'm over £100 in credit, as a result of not attending the practice for over 2 years (ie through Covid!!), I have been removed from their books and therefore no appointment (and still no quote). This Practice have not been forthcoming with informing me that they were terminating my account, that I'm in credit, or on return of my monies. I'm now in the process of trying get my money back, however, I'm not getting any proactive support from the Practice, just an email address to try and sort out this issue myself. All in all, not the level if service I would expect from a reputable company, and wonder how many more clients are in credit whilst their account terminated and haven't been informed.

Update 16.09.22 -Further to my original review earlier this year, I am happy to report that eventually, after a number of conversations and a visit to the branch, I have now received back all my money which was being held. 🥳

Company only seemed interested in the prices of services and not on the quality of medical care supplied. I cannot trust a company with a mindset on finance to take care of my health.

Hughes and Owen in Swadlincote are a fantastic dentist. If you’re like me you may not like going to the dentist 🪥 🦷, but at H&O all the staff from reception, hygienists, dental nurses and dentists alike are super-friendly.

What’s more, is they are highly professional and a very capable high performance team. All the staff work collaboratively and gel together.

H&O in Swadlincote is a brilliant dentist practice. I highly recommend them.

Clare Watson is my dentist and she is awesome and so highly skilled too.
