Moved to Caerphilly recently and had to find an NHS dentist which is really hard. I contacted several dentists with no luck and not really much help at all but I phoned Bupa as my final try. The lady who answered the phone was polite and respectful, offering guidance and support. She put me on a waiting list to call back in 3 months which I had completely forgotten about until I had received a call to book an appointment. The building is small but the practice has made full use of the space. The receptionists are polite! The dentist I seen was helpful but also supportive. Overall it was a pleasant experience and I feel happy to have found a regular dentist.

My husband lost a filling, couldn't get through on the phone so had to drive there to make an appointment. He explained he had lost a filling and was booked in for a new one. He turned up on the day of the appointment and was told they thought he was there for a check up and can't do it for 12 weeks.

Appointments canceled and no alternatives offered. Messages left and never returned. Used to be a good practice but has gone down hill since Covid.

I only give one star as I have to. This should no longer be considered a NHS practice. NHS patients are pushed down the list in favour of private treatments. They only claim to be NHS to get customers through the door so they can make money from other treatments and by offering reduced lead times for patients if they are prepared to pay. My family have had numerous check-up appointments cancelled since covid with no alternatives offered. My children won't have seen a dentist for 3 years. My son requires braces and despite his peers in other practices being referred years ago they kept deferring (maybe until over 16 and paying for treatment?). We have finally seen an orthodontist (at a different NHS practice) who advised three extractions are required prior to braces being fitted and we have been offered March '23 (this is written 05.10.22). If we pay £88 per tooth we can have this done in two weeks!!!! Two weeks or five months - seems a little like blackmail.

Never able to get an appointment and when we do get an appointment they are always cancelled at a later date. Took years for them to refer our son for a retainer despite his discomfort and Orthodontist commented on the fact there was no doubt of his need booked him in for Nov - all we needed to do was book extractions with our dentist. Called them and the earliest appointment is MARCH 2023!!!! If I wanted to book a private appointment I could have one in 2 weeks!!!!!!

They keep cancelling my appointments and rearrange them for months later However, called with a dental emergency, I had cracked a tooth. Left a message as could not speak to anyone. They called back and arranged an appointment 2 days later. A bit of a mix up when I arrived and a quite long wait but was given a filling. So like all NHS services good for emergencies but not so good at the normal stuff, but that is the government's fault not the practice.

Despite being so busy they are always there when I need them and happy to help with any of my daughters dental needs. 😊

I have been a patient for years. In the last year I have spent a lot of money with them. A major filling they had done failed in March. Everyone has difficulties contacting them. Eventually I did speak to someone. I was given an appointment 6 weeks later. Today in fact. 12th May. Yesterday the appointment was cancelled. I have been given another one for late June. 3 months from first call. I am an NHS patient so although there may be other dentists in the area I am stuck with BUPA. Service has deteriorated since they took over
