Had my first appointment at Gwenna on Wednesday and was very happy. Reception staff were efficient and friendly. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Having a horror of going to the dentist, Anna, the dentist I saw was lovely.

Excellent- warm and friendly greeting from all the members of staff I have so far met. Love the email confirmations of appointments. Light and bright premises. Felt my initial examination was very thorough and hygienist treatment and advice was very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Very operative! I have had an emergency and they helped me immediately. Very friendly and professional people. I booked again for a larger consultation. Long hall to get through as the building is constructed like that but easy to find at the first floor. The main entrance must be better signalised but also Tesco staff helping with guidance. Come earlier if you are first time visiting as is necessary to complete a form. High quality and high prices too. I’m happy to finally find a place to sort out implants in Cardiff.

Fantastic service. I was diagnosed with bad gum disease in my teens in another surgery and was so embarrassed by this that I hadn’t visited a dentist for 5 years until I tried Gwena.

The dentist and hygienist were both wonderfully helpful, provided clear information and removed alot of the stains on my teeth in just one visit.

Was a pleasure to go! Thoroughly recommend to anyone!

Gwena used to be amazing, i just dont know whats happened. Now they contantly cancel appointments so its impossible to be seen. Im juggling work and my kids so i always make appointments well in advance because i can not afford to take time off work plus one of my children has a disability , so the appointments i need have to be after school hours. which often means having to wait months to be seen. But guaranteed when it gets close i will receive an email reminder of a completely different date. Which means that i constantly have to ring to ask whats happened to our original appointments, and to be told AGAIN that our appointments have been cancelled and rearranged. So AGAIN i have to say that i have to have after school appointments and as usual they say that nothing is available for another month+........which they end up cancelling anyway. My sister is also registered there but not once have her appointments ever been cancelled but thats probably because she's private and im NHS. Booking and rebooking/ contantly having to repeat the same conversation is extremely frustrating. I can not help but think that this is just a way they treat NHS patients and dont care if they go somewhere else. I asked my sister to ring about an after school appointment because she is a private patient and she was offered an appointment for the next week. So in my experience with Gwena, if your NHS then expect to have your appointments constantly cancelled and be prepared to wait months, although you may be fine with Gwena if yours days are free or you have a extremely flexible job. However if your private then im certain you will receive a much better service.

Don't waste your time going to this practice, there are many good dental practices in Cardiff.
After receiving extremely poor patient service at the surgery, I raised a formal complaint with the practice manager to avoid further occurrences with other patients. The complaint has not been followed up and a further occurrence was witnessed by my wife last week affecting another patient.
Like the other patient, I was accused in front of a waiting room containing several patients that I had not paid for treatment 6 months earlier. I informed the lady on reception that I had paid after receiving treatment 6 months earlier, only then to be informed that I would need to prove it. I have since provided documented evidence of the payment, without any communication or apology from the practice.
I have followed up this billing issue with reputable dental practices in Cardiff, only to be informed that reputable practices provide a quotation for the patient to sign prior to treatment commencing. This billing system was not provided to me at Gewna, leaving staff at Gwena open to accuse patients of not paying or disputing treatment costs. The whole billing and payment process at Gwena would appear to be improper based on these experiences.

My wife and I have been with Gwena dental care since they opened. Osian and the team have been fantastic and totally professional for all our dental requirements.

Recently, I experienced severe toothache and was seen the following day as an emergency. I arrived at 8.55am and had the molar removed at 9.50am. Superb service and cannot speak highly enough of the care given by the staff.

Thank you all.

Was referred here from another dentist and could not rate them highly enough. Had 2 rotten molars extracted and the experience was extremely professional and very welcoming. Would give more stars if I could.
