Porth Dental Teaching Unit

After over 30 years of fear after a traumatic incident I attended the teaching unit today, I was treated very respectability and had my fears and worries attended too. A 1st class service by Dr Davies and her assistant I will return next week much more at ease.

Made an emergency appointment call in the morning, finally received a call at 15:32 to come down straight (no time stated at all and live 15 min away without traffic) got there at 16:00 to be told my appointment was at 15:45 and now will not be seen. Shocking receptionist as she clearly didn't do her job properly at all!! Now have to just wait in pain until I can actually get something sorted. Shocking service!!!!

I had emergency treatment today at the Porth Dental teaching practice. I was sent there by Mountain Ash Dental Hospital for a tooth extraction. The staff were amazing from reception to the dentist. I am petrified of the dentist usually but they were friendly, professional and put me at ease. I wouldn’t hesitate to visit again. Brilliant service, thank you.

I usually have nothing but good reviews on this place as they have been brilliant the twice I have been there but my daughter has an appointment there today, she can't remember what time and has been trying to phone them all morning since they have opened, as have I and the answer phone just keeps saying its closed due to a bank holiday, ive even tried phoning my own dentist to get thro to Porth that way and they have given me an alternative number which I could only leave a message on and wait but,, still no response from them this way either, it's been a nightmare of a morning trying to get thro, hopefully some one will call me back soon.

Fantastic service and dentists who understand neurodiverse young people coming in with carers, really supportive of one of my young adult children who needed a lot of treatment. Taken time to get through panic and anxiety.

A friend didn't have a great experience with them but that's the only bad thing I've heard.

However I think a lot is who you get as they have a lot of dentists. Met one of the senior dentists as well and he was friendly and had a nice calm manner. He was really keen on making sure patient knew the risks, pro and cons of treatment and that all teeth can be helped just for how long etc.

Close to bus stops but they are across the road due to Porth one way system. A good amount of disabled car parking spaces out front.

Taking COVID risks very seriously still using masks and hand washing. Only recently changed from one way system in and out. Have fans in waiting room as it's so hot at the momment.

I kinda wish they were my dentist as well which I think says a lot.

Best dentist I've been to have anxiety for year about visiting the dentist but they are so goodish patients and gentle and explain everything..

I don't normally like the dentist as the three or four recent visits I've had has not gone to well I'm still in pain when they try to extract teeth. I was referred to Porth dental hospital to have a wisdom tooth and the one next to it taken out. This place to be honnest is amazing the dentist and staff are brilliant I can't fault them, and praise them enough, they are so friendly and realy put you at ease when the procedure was over I at to ask if they were out. Can't thank them enough and I hope they all have a great Xmas. Thanks once again for the brilliant job done.

Amazing service by two lovely ladies today Bethan and Michelle. Had a troublesome wisdom tooth taken out with ease in less than 5 minutes! Friendly environment that really made me feel at ease.
