I don’t often leave reviews but wanted to leave a note here for management. A year ago I was experiencing a whole host of symptoms that were affecting my body & life, I couldn’t work out what was going on, and my symptoms just got worse as time went on.

In the year of going back and forth with the doctors, I had a couple of appointments with a doctor initially who I won’t name here, but others have also mentioned this doctor in the reviews. This doctor barely even looked at me from their computer screen, typing away whilst I spoke, routinely interrupted me, lacked listening skills, any sense of politeness in her tone what so ever. After running some blood tests that were insufficient, she told me, and I quote, that maybe all of this was going on in my head, that I was fine and just needed to busy myself, she then recommended that I see a psychologist, and alluded to me being a ‘hypochondriac’, when she knew nothing about me. I had to hold back my tears over the phone, I said thank you and ended the call. I am of South Asian heritage, born in England, and I have noticed that South Asian doctors in King’s Lynn who come from abroad tend to treat people of colour with indifference, ill manners, a condescending tone, no compassion. It’s like reverse racism. I don’t know why this is, and would advocate that doctors who are foreign are given substantially more training especially in the area of communication, politeness, showing compassion, interacting with humans. I know that this is a requirement within the syllabus of Medical degrees in the UK.

I ended up seeing a Naturopathic doctor privately, after a friend recommended them to me, I felt like someone finally understood my body and what was going on, my health issues are finally resolving, I would recommend to anyone reading this, please find alternative medical practitioners, and professionals who actually CARE. A lot of doctors are just doctors for the ‘status’ it gives them, for the financial security, or simply because their parents pushed them to be doctors back in 1985. Not every doctor actually cares about the well-being of patients. Good luck and I hope you find healing!

You can ring up for an appointment & be on the phone for one hour to be told there`s is no appointment ring bacl to tomorrow. I tried for 3 days to get an appointment on the fourth day my wife had to call 999 for an ambulance, she had contact with the surgery and they said the doctor will call me, he called me at 5 at night I've been in A&E six hours and then stayed in hospital for 5 days

Awful do your self a favour and find a different surgery . Can’t cope with all the patients they got extra after closing Fairstead surgery long que times then told ring back next day , still using the pandemic as a excuse diagnosis over the phone only thing good is they quick on doing repeat prescriptions apart from that please go else where . I’ve also contacted health watch and bbc radio Norfolk and this is ppls lives at risk , reopen Fairstead surgery and your surgery will be able to cope with demand

RIP Fairstead Surgery, open in name only. Why can't a couple of nurses be based there, surgery is within walking distance of hundreds of elderly people and thousands of other people.
Vida cannot possibly be reading these reviews going back a number of years otherwise they would have addressed the issues being raised by numerous people. It seems they don't care, it's a business not a health service.

Unfortunately there is no zero rating option. Been on hold for 20mins (which is extremely quick by normal standards) , no appointments and the only
suggestion is try again just
before 12, there will be more released - really???? No wonder people go to A&E.

Absolutely appalled rang this morning at 8.20 to get an appointment with a doctor and told there was none but could ring back later at 12 when a lot more are released, thought yep no problem. Rang at 12.15 to an incredibly rude receptionist who said there was nothing until Tuesday??!! Absolutely appalled at this doctors they don't see humans on the other end of the phone they just see an irritation to there day!!!! DON'T USE AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I have been registered here since the early 1990's. This surgery was once a very well run and helpful place with some very caring staff. Not anymore,

I suffer with chronic pain, Hyper-Tension stage 2 and depression. I haven't been able to get an appointment here for over 4 years. Having jumped through their hoops many times. Have phoned before 08:20 on many occasions and after listening to a very depressing voice tell you about their current policies to then be told you number 18 in the queue. Eventually after over an hour to be told by a receptionist that they are fully booked and that I should phone back at 12:00 and when I've done that, getting exactly the same result except this time being told to phone back the next morning before 08:20 and round and round we go..

It's more effective to phone 111 or even go to the QE A&E department putting more strain on the NHS than to try and get an appointment to see or even talk to someone at Gayton Road Vida Health Centre.

Completely hopeless and depressing are the feelings you get when dealing with this GP surgery.
