My recent experience was pretty bad in terms of communication and organisation. Was told over the phone by a doctor my appointment would be at 3pm, only when I got there I was told it was actually an hour later. At this point I was feeling really unwell and had to go back home and wait again. I wouldn't mind so much if I wasn't feeling as ill but I didn't get an apology from anyone. Only helpful person is the lovely lady on prescriptions who has helped me time and time again

Phoned for an appointment at 8.00am. Automated switchboard informed I was in a queue of 8. If I entered 1 on my keyboard I ws informed I would get a return call when queue position reached. By 3.00pm no return call! Called again to be informed that a doctor would call today to arrange appointment. It is now 16.50pm still no contact from surgery. Guess I will have to attend in person as phone contact, when possible, seems to be futile.

If only I could give this surgery zero stars!
A complete waste of time, I spent over 45 minutes on hold, only to be told that requesting a prostate check isn't important enough to receive a doctors call back. Over a week has passed and not one phone from the doctors. The receptionist is so unprofessional it's actually comical that after all the complaints, Beauchamp still haven't rectified the issue.
Needless to say, I transferred to another surgery nearby.
You can see why people go private!

Almost 3 years ago I moved to Chelmsford. It was the closest GP I can register. I am regretting it already and definitely looking an other GP surgery. The receptionts treat you horrible when they hear that you have an accent, and you are not English. I am a kind of person that go to doctors very rarely. When ever I call, there aren't any appointments available. Today was the last strike because I needed to book an appointment with the doctor . I have been trying to get through a receptionist for over a week and waiting almost an hour on the phone today, I was told by a receptionist that there's no doctor appointment available and I should go to the pharmacy. Wow I didn't know how to do that. I waited an hour on the phone so the lovely receptionist can tell me go to a pharmacy. It is like a joke. They have online booking system but don't even try it it never works. I had a doctor appointment two years ago and the doctor was incredibly rude. I never seen in my life a doctor can be that rude. I had enough from them.
They also lost my daughter medical form and she had to fill in again. How can you lose such a important document with my daughter's details in it.
Well stay away from this GP

Even if you call at 8am for an appointment you've been told by them to make, the chances of getting an appointment are extremely low. I waited almost 90 minutes on hold for someone to answer, only to be told all appointments were filled. You have to select an option when you start the call which indicates you'd like to book an appointment. Why does a message play when they are all filled?
If you are lucky enough to book an appointment, later they also claim in notes that they have contacted you with test results when they haven't and fail to record notes from telephone appointments that did take place.
Some of the people that answer the phone are also extremely rude and abrupt and shouldn't be allowed to speak to patients who may be extremely worried about their own or a loved one's medical condition.
The website claims they are caring and compassionate...I haven't seen any evidence of that for at least 5 years. I'm just glad my parents are registered elsewhere. I would advise anyone with actual need for serious care to do the same.

Change the telephone system to stop people wasting their time. E.g. if Monday is emergencies only, say that at the start of the recorded response.

In January I visited because a private Doctor and an NHS Optometrist diagnosed me with auto-immune issues and told me I needed tests.
The GP told me I have appendicitis and to go to A&E.
I did not have appendicitis, I did not waste A&E's time.
2 weeks later the doctor calls me to chastise me for not going to A&E then give me a telephone appointment at a random out of hours surgery with a random doctor because "they don't have time"
I have that appointment and the doctor tells me to demand specific blood tests. I've been a patient at this surgery for 6 years so I know there's no point in trying to do that.

Moving forward;
I was told by Broomfield hospital to shield.
I asked my GP to provide me a letter for this. They told me "We don't do letters for that"
I was then told by the hospital to "Go down there, stamp your feet and refuse to leave until they give you a letter. Report them to the health commission if they refuse"

I'm obviously not going to do that.
Just honestly, I don't understand why there are 4 significantly better doctors surgeries closer to my post-code than this one, but I have to use this one because of "catchment" issues.

/update. So it's nearly 2 years since I wrote this. Turns out I have Bechets Disease. This Surgery is a hindrance to your care. They are actively unhelpful. Purposefully obstructive and are responsible for causing further harm to their own patients. They withhold medications, they ignore hospital prescriptions, they ignore their own in-house pharmacist and they ignore complaints.

From the receptionists to the GPS and nurses great great experiences everytime! Being able to call and request a call back so I can get on with my work knowing I'll get a call when they are available is brilliant! When I moved to Chelmsford i was mentally very poorly if it wasn't for the amazing Dr I saw I wouldn't be here. And every health issue I have had since had been dealt with with the best care and haste. Asking for repeat prescriptions by email is so handy too! The amazing nurses who give me my injections every few months are so friendly and helpful! The receptionists are very friendly and always welcoming I hope I never have to change drs!

An absolutely disgusting/unhelpful treatment from the Receptionist, first on the phone and then in person when I went to register as a new patient. In 8 years in the UK I have never been treated as bad as this woman has treated me today. I went to register because I found a lump in my breast...which I told her as a matter of urgency but she did not even care to look at me in the eyes, when she said "oh well you are not register yet so..." Long dark hair with glasses. You should not be working there, shame on you treating people that way.
