Now they’ve merged with PPC it’s an absolute disgrace of a service!!! After waiting 1st in telephone queue for over 30 mins at 8am I was finally given an app. Was told to come in same day as it was an emergency. When I got to the surgery I checked in at reception, which was difficult enough as she didn’t seem to believe the doctor wanted to see me in person! waited there for over 1.5 HOURS! Randomly my phone rang and it was someone from the doctors back office wanting me to update my details. When I told the woman I was IN the doctors at the time and how long I’d been waiting, she went to speak to the doctor, who turns out had NO IDEA I WAS THERE. She even said to me “yeah the receptionists… awful”
HIRE SOMEONE ELSE how can a patient be made to wait like that without the doctor knowing. Even now I need to make an appointment prior to serious neurosurgery I am having I’ve been on hold for 2 HOURS and still 10 in the queue. Should be reported it’s absolutely disgraceful to treat people like this. It’s such a shame because the doctors themselves are fantastic, you just can’t get to them!!!!!!!
On the other hand, when I do get through, I actually have a different experience from what most people say. I found receptionists here to be helpful and efficient, if they say they’ll call me back they always do and multiple issues I have asked about were resolved quickly.
Medical staff is hit and miss. Nurse Asha is amazing, so is one of the male doctors (don’t know the name). The rest… mm. Either rude or come around as not competent enough (or just can’t be bothered to care).
Saying all that, if you have chest pain - call 111 or 999, not gp, I thought it is just a common sense, but apparently not.
Last time I have been to the hospital the doctors told me to call my Gp and inform them about what happened I called them and book an appointment and never heard back from them.
Went into the practice. Got told by the sulky youth on Reception that there were no appointments available. That’s it. End of.
Amazing. Truly rubbish.
