In my expereince, this is a very good practice. The Doctors and Nurses are absolutely excellent, professional and caring. The support staff are also professional and caring and do their best to direct you to the right service. Along with my immediate family, I have been a patient here for nearly 20 years and used many of their services (e.g. GP / family planing / women's health / immunisations / x-ray).
They are doing a fantastic job in extremely difficult circumstances (Covid and its aftermath). I cannot understand all the negative reviews, I think some people are unreralistic? I have had a much better experience at Old Cottage than my friends and family who've had huge problems getting any attention at all from their GPs at other practices. Thank you to everyone at Old Cottage Hospital.

Rang surgery at 8.30 to request appointment for my 2 year old grandson currently staying with me. Very chesty cough & congested breathing. Told computers down and to call back in an hour. Explained difficult to hold on phone as toddler just been sick and receptionist took my number with assurance to call back. No call and when I finally got through again (around 10.30) msg to say surgery closed til 8am next day!!
This is both disgusting snd frightening. Total reliance on unsound computer system probably costing tens of thousands is only making post Covid situation worse. No wonder EDH A&E at a standstill. Lives will be lost - totally unnecessarily. Cut the tech and please go back to the old system. It worked!!!
I also feel sorry for the staff involved. You lot should complain too; what a thankless task you have.

If you can guarantee that you will never get ill or need to see a doctor or even order a repeat prescription on line before 8am or after 6pm then this is the surgery for you.
Absolutely shocking service. Just look at the reviews and ratings and ask yourself if this was a restaurant would you eat here.
Practice manager - you should be ashamed.

Called the surgery for an appointment on the off chance at 955am with my own GP. I was offered an appointment for the following day straight away by the lovely Tracey at reception. I never understand the negative feedback left. I've never had any problems when dealing with this surgery or staff. Thankyou

The worst I've ever experienced, I'd give zero stars if I could. Utter shambles across the board, impossible to get hold of, never returned a call, had to go private to have a smear.

Arrived for an appointment at Old Cottage Hospital surgery on time and all parking spaces taken. Had to wait over 10 minutes to park. Receptionist then says you are too late! How strange when you are usually kept hanging around in the waiting room for 15 minutes. Rather than helping my blood pressure they just made it a lot worse! Terrible location for public transport and terrible parking. Left furious.

The nurse who does the blood tests comes across as extremely rude. I know she’s there to do her job but it’s the NHS. Patients want to feel secure in their hands. Any attempt at a polite conversation with her comes to nothing, yet, she’s happy sitting with her colleagues in reception chatting & laughing. Two extremes tells me she loathes the job. If she has problems outside of work then she should not bring them into her place of work. Also there is another receptionist who is exactly the same, difference is she’s on the frontline! This needs addressing asap. ⭐️Update. A great improvement from this nurse, a very pleasant visit⭐️

Had great experiences twice now for our toddler. Both times we’re given same day appointments though at 5pm but who will complain about that with the current pressures we have. Let alone it’s the holiday season. Dr rust and Dr Sevenoaks were both amazing, gentle and caring. You know that in the short time they saw you their years of experience shows.

That’s our experience. I think people are complaining about trivial things that sometimes the GP service staff have no control on. We are all human and not perfect. I feel ICP deserve better reviews than this. Imagine having a service which has 4 sites they can send you if there are no slot on the other.
