I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT recommend DR SZYSZKO as a doctor. I have been a patient for 4-5 years and on multiple occasions the doctor has dismissed my concerns as insubstantial or "worrying". She also does not seem to believe her patients and symptoms they are describing and thinks she know their own bodies better than the patients themselves. Only after I paid to see a specialist privately it turned out it wasn't worrying and there was indeed something wrong with me. After the doctor lied to me and said the medication she is prescribing will help with a kidney infection I was sure I was having (she didn't believe me, she though its just bladder infection) I spent a week taking it with no improvement I landed in A&E with near-sepsis and had to take the strongest available antibiotic for 2 weeks to get better. Don't remember anything from those 2 weeks due to very high fever and I lost 5 pounds of weight, as wasn't able to eat anything. I don't think she even knows what she put me through and what her lack of education and care caused me, as she was on holiday while I was going through the worst part of the illness. SCARY, that she is a practicing doctor responsible for other people well-being. If I were her doctor I would prescribe a bit of humility and and an ear check.

Special thanks to Dr Mohamed that was the only doctor able to diagnose my condition so it finally could be treated. After 2 months of a struggle and visiting different doctors Im finally able to enjoy pain-free life thanks to Dr Mohamed. Many thanks!

I left this practice because like most of the others reviews I echo that the service was hot and cold with everyone from Drs and receptionist suffering from mood swings, one minute hot then cold. (It was literally similarly to the weather.)
I totally agree with comments already made that the receptionist are rude and disrespectful, little care and compassion for you at a time when your are sick. *She is obviously burnt out and needs to consider her motivation to working with people.
I left because if they treat people and me like this now, I could not imagine how they would treat me when I do grow old and cannot speak up for myself.
And before you ask, yes I did make complaints to the practice manger, who was nice, but unfortunately she only colludes with her staff’s poor customer service.
It is a sorry state when sick people are treated like this by people who are meant to help with their care.
If your thinking of registering DONT!

They lost my swap and after 10 days they asked me to go back again and do it.

They referred me for an ultrasound and when called the hospital they never had me referred.

I went to an appointment and in the record they wrote I had no fever but they never asked if I had or they checked. They call me to prescribe me antibiotics but they never explained to me what that was for despite asking

This place is a nightmare. Makes me feel hopeless

Registration was easy enough but then the problems started. The online booking system was down, couldn't get through the phone...and via email were told repeat prescriptions from our previous practice would be renewed but then was put in a position to argue with Dr Spencer-Lane and essesncially bag for a blue asthma inhailer. Putting someone's life in danger because you have "guidelines" that mean something used in emergencies is not dispenced is just dangerous.

Well this is probably the most difficult review I've ever had to write. Especially after reading the others. My experience of chick family practice is bitter sweet for the most part it has been very good. I find Dr Szyszko hot and cold to be honest some days you speak with her and your left grinning from ear to ear at her person centred approach and ability to engage even laugh with service users.
Then all of a sudden out of nowhere she hits you with a mood and attitude that could leave you not wanting to seek help no matter how bad you feel. Thankfully I don't have to experience this often but I do understand a good few patients that have felt this way. While we appreciate everyone is human it's important to say when she has this mood or sharpens her tongue without reason it really is unpleasant. The receptionist is very much the luck of the draw depending on who you get on the day.
I'm giving four stars because when she's good it's really lovely

I have called them the other day in the afternoon to book an appointment or to speak with a doctor. the women on the phone was so rude and not helpful at all, she basically attacked me how dare i call in the afternoon to book an appointment, appointments can only be made around 8am.
After finally I managed to book an appointment. a few days later I was called by a nurse to cancel the smear test appointment and when I questioned her she got so rude and started to read out loud the procedures and previous diagnosis. they she said she can book an appointment for a week later to speak with a GP about my issues. Quite disappointing.

Highly Recommend ! 100⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dr Szyszko is simply fantastic. She really listens and is very thorough. She is clear, concise, non-judgemental, decisive and the most knowledgable doctor I have ever met! She makes general conversation easy and shares a joke here and there making the whole patient/doctor experience far less intimidating. She talks ‘to you’ rather than ‘at you’. She is my childhood doctor and has always shown great empathy. I was with a different surgery for a while before returning back to Chiswick Family Practice and all I can say is that on a scale of 1-10, I would have to rate this surgery 10++++!! The last one I was at didn’t save any of my medical notes so Dr Szyszko had to re-run all the necessary tests again and has since sent me for specialist testing which is something I was never offered before at the other surgery. I never feel like I’m being bothersome when I am there which is very reassuring. This is one doctor you can count on!

The Nurses are all fantastic too. I’ve been seen by roughly three nurses and the last nurse I saw was named Nicky. I cannot rate them highly enough especially if they’ve had to deal with me. I have a huge phobia of needles and blood and I’m very squeamish. Each appointment however has been dealt with the utmost professionalism. The nurses have shown me a lot of patience, respect and understanding and have never judged me for acting like a complete baby when it comes to things like blood tests. They wait until I’m calmer before proceeding, and always allow me a little extra time to sit before I get up to go. The last nurse I had for blood testing was amazing, she even offered me the needle for babies which I of course accepted! I didn’t catch her name but she has long wavy brown hair. Thank you to all the nurses who have always been so softly spoken with me, it goes a very long way and I really do appreciate it every time.

Lastly, the receptionists for Dr Szyszko are always so warm and welcoming. They are very informative, always very clear when arranging appointments and are extremely attentive.

Thank you very much for all you do ☺️
