Recently called regarding my acid reflux, IBS & neck pain, which I’d been suffering with for years. I was prescribed Gavisgon, Buscopan and Ibuprofen Gel from a GP, (all temporary medicines that you can buy from supermarkets). I spoke to a nurse the next month (from the same practice), explaining how none of these were working & she said she couldn’t believe I’d been prescribed them as none of them would do anything & that I needed long term medication.
2 days ago I went to pick up my prescription for Omeprazole (my medication for acid reflux, finally found something that works!) & the GP has prescribed me Aripiprazole (an anti-psychotic) instead! HOW?! I’m already on medication for a mental illness & if I accidentally took this, I could have been very ill. I rang to confront them about this and I didn’t even get an apology, just a woman going “ahh well we can’t issue your prescription until 3pm today so ring us then ok, bye”.
My Mom was also extremely unwell months ago; bruising easily, legs forming blood clots, gagging when trying to eat, lost a lot of weight in a short period of time, lost her bladder control, swollen legs & ankles, shaking, constantly sleeping - myself and my family cared for her non-stop, I had to quit my job, the GP surgery did nothing apart from a couple of blood tests that all came back “normal”, they didn’t look into the severity of it or even try to investigate it further. I honestly though I was going to lose my Mother & the stuff at Chadsmoor Medical Practice, couldn’t care less.
The reception staff are always rude, show no empathy or care, the GP’s constantly rush me through appointments, it takes months/years to be listened to or taken seriously, the GP’s prescribe medication for mental illnesses as if they’re sweets and either think of themselves as psychiatric doctors, or just don’t understand how much worse mental illnesses can get if prescribed the wrong medication.
I honestly can’t fault this GP surgery enough. I’ll be making numerous complaints, writing to the practice manager, & I honestly believe they should be closed down. The new management have ruined it, if only Dr Speedie was still there!
Then he hung up
