A wonderful experience. I was met by Carol Ann with a huge smile and made to feel at home! The clinic is lovely and Dr David Crispin Chavez, also met me with a smile. He is kind, informative and very patient centred. He was very quick and I left feeling very happy. I would definitely recommend the Ear Care Centre. So much so, my daughter travelled up from worthing to see him as no one there had been able to help after having her ears syringed. The centre uses the most up to date medical equipment and it was quick and painless. The appointment was easily made and we both felt we mattered. Thank you!!

I suffer from heavy wax, eustachian tube disorder and moderate tinnitus. My ENT advised me to avoid irrigation to minimise the risk of further damage and so Caterham Ear Centre's microsuction services seemed ideal. The woman on the phone and at reception was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and the Dr was very understanding and reassuring about my concerns since I was anxious about the possibility of the treatment worsening my tinnitus. I had booked in for ear wax removal but after inspecting my ears the Dr advised that I did not need microsuction and I was only charged a small fee for inspection. I was also offered good advice and had all my questions answered including recommendations for places that could help with my inner ear problems since that is something the clinic is understandably not equipped to deal with.

Always a professional service received by all the staff at the clinic. The knowledge that you are being advised and treated by a skilled medical practitioner is extremely reassuring. I cannot recommend The Ear Care Centre highly enough ! Well done and thank you 🙏

I would have gone for zero stars (*) if I could. I do an ear wax cleaning as a routine every 2 years. I booked an appointment in September and paid £95 for both ears. The whole process took him 5 mins, which made me a bit skeptical. Mid-february (4 months after) I lost hearing on my one ear. I visited my GP just to be told that the ear was full of wax and she could not even see the ear-drum. I called the Centre to report the facts as it seemed so very awkward this could happen in such a short period of time. I asked to re-visit the Center and re-do the microsunction. They claimed no fault, no responsibility and if I wanted to redo it I would have to pay another £95. I tried to explain him there is no logical explanation around it. He kept arguing that my record file on his PC states the "ear was fully cleaned"! However, he could provide no proof so it is my word against his. Anyway you look at it, it is a sub-par job. He then tried to justify it as "things can change and my ear wax production frequency can change as well blah, blah". He kept lecturing me about his professionalism, solid reputation and high ethics, however he never offered any solution to remediate the situation, or even meet me half-way. Disappointing Customer Service.

I have just seen the latest review, whilst trying to find somewhere offering microsuction. One star??? My partner receives aggressive, life prolonging treatment in hospital, along side others, receiving chemotherapy and other immunosuppressant patients. Due to the person falsely, citing ,”discrimination” , I was actually really pleased to read his rhetoric!! We are definitely going to book an appointment now. Knowing that the clinic has a Covid 19 (Vaccination) and Screening Policy, it is clearly doing its best to protect vulnerable patients and all staff, we will definitely come! Anti vaxxers have a choice; cancer patients and other immune suppressed people, do not. It’s amazing that spouting vitriol and attempting to negatively impact a small, private business, has backfired. I will stick with a fully qualified medical doctor that is concerned with positively supporting, peoples’ health and their own. I shall call on Monday and make an appointment. We shall also be telling the nurses and patients on the oncology/haematology Day Care Ward, that you are offering a safe space for patients in need of ear care. Bravo!!

Have used this clinic for a few years now & as have stated in previous reviews, would never go anywhere else to have my ears treated (& I have been to a good few!) I visited again today with the usual blocked ears. The clinic works to a tight schedule on a one in one out basis, is scrupulously clean & the efficient & friendly ENT doctor puts you immediately at ease. More to the point, the procedure is painless & highly effective. There may be other places that appear to offer the same treatment at a (slightly) lower cost & I have tried both irrigation & an audioligist for microsuction. There is NO comparison. I have ended up with an ear infection from the irrigation & the audiologist could not clear one ear after trying until I had a banging headache. Sorry for the long post but I wanted to demonstrate the different experiences for the same problem. .

While I could not fault the micro suction treatment, please be warned that it could be expensive, compared to others offering the same service. I telephoned for an appointment to clear a blocked ear and was told that the charge for both ears would be £95, with a reduced charge on Thursdays of £70. As all appointments on Thursdays were fully booked for several weeks, I booked an immediate appointment. I was told that it would not be necessary to put oil in the ears prior to the appointment. When I attended, the blocked ear was cleared fairly easily, but on a quick inspection of the other ear I was told that it needed drops inserting for five days and a further appointment at a ‘reduced rate’ of £50 would be required. At the second appointment the wax was removed, but the total cost was £145, well over twice the cost of others, most of whom offer a free second appointment if necessary.

They do a wax training course and I promise you it is the best in the London and surrounding areas. A fantastic team and such a professional day. Dr Chavez is a super experienced, friendly ENT doctor. There is a lovely receptionist Carol-Ann who greets people upon entry. She was previously a Nurse so the pair are highly experienced and highly professional! If you’re training or going as a patient you are in great hands.
