This is a shambolic and poorly organised practice and is by far the worst I have been to in the UK. They think it's ok to cancel prescriptions with no warning or explanation. They are then rude and dismissive to you over the phone and at reception when you try to calmly explain the well documented life threatening health risks of being unable to access previously prescribed medication. I was also told over the phone by staff at Bangor Hospital that sudden cessation of my medication was extremely dangerous and that the practice had not acted in an acceptable manner.
I had also previously rang up on 3 occasions to ask for an appointment and was told that I had to call at 8am the next day. When I did so I ended up being put on hold for 2 hours before having to physically go into reception and wait for 30 minutes before anyone would speak to me. I was then told to await a phone call.
In total I waited for 8 hours in the car park (from 10am until 1800) and nobody phoned me. I was finally able to speak to someone, but only because of the kindness of one of the pharmacists who did the job of the receptionist and asked to speak to a doctor after I had been ignored. The person I finally spoke to was at last understanding and compassionate (hence 2 stars rather than 1) unlike the condescending receptionist I had tried to call during the day.
I understand that it's considered blasphemous to say anything negative about the NHS but this practice has caused myself and others considerable suffering due to their negligence.
On numerous occasions people have been queuing out of the door at the pharmacy for unfulfilled or misplaced prescriptions. I was told by 3 people in the que that they had put in formal complaints about practice management, another person said that they were changing to the surgery in Benllech.
I would advise anyone in the catchment area of this practice to register elsewhere (i.e. Benllech). My previous surgery in Llanberis have always been conscientious, polite and efficient, even during covid, as have Llanrug and Deiniolen.
Thank you
