Rubbish agency. All they want is your money and the showreels that they give you are low quality. Not to mention, Lucy and Thomas send a mass email rejecting everyone. If you look at their clients, they hardly get any work.

FIVE STARS!

I absolutely love studying at MN Academy! I have studied at many Acting- and Improvisational-schools in different countries over the years and I can honestly say that MN Academy has surpassed them all. Why? Because MN Academy and their dedicated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable teachers Tom and Eliot have struck a very fine balance in their approach to teaching Screen Acting:
They are giving equal time and respect to acting as a craft and acting as your road to booking a job! This is what is truly unique at MN. Yes, you will study character, yes, you will analyse relationships and learn short-cuts to developing a fleshed out persona BUT at the same time, you are weekly confronted with the reality of the job-hunt. What are agents looking for? Why were you given this particular scene? How can you respond to a last minute audition curve-ball? These are the make-or-break elements of becoming a working actor and yet, I feel no other acting school helps its students in this regard.

Scenes are also regularly filmed and analyzed in class which, sadly, is not a given in a screen acting class. At MN you actually study with the instruments you are going to face on the job and it is mind-blowing how many little quirks may be hindering the way your performance comes across. Such quirks are discussed lovingly and with a chuckle. I have never felt uncomfortable in an MN classroom.

Another important point: Tom and Eliot are simply class acts! They treat their students with respect, support and a good dose of humour. They do so with ease because everyone is a good actor there (you auditioned to get into the programme after all). Furthermore, the atmosphere creates a sense of camaraderie and not competition, so all students are generous and inspired team-players. I’ve learned so much from my fellow students and shall steal tricks from them without remorse.
Tom and Eliot take the time to listen to an actor’s personal challenges and here they will neither be sugar-coating nor domineering. They will tell you how to get the most out of your type, talents, and skill-set, and they do so to help you to get work.

Another important point I would like to make is that everyone at MN is exceedingly friendly and professional. It is truly a safe space (which is not a given). These are teachers that can get the most out of their students without lofty mind-games. Acting is a passion for us and them, yes! But does it need to break you down? At MN, most certainly not. Tom and Eliot have skilfully taught me how to get to a new emotional place safely without pushing. Turns out, when teachers are also industry-insiders, they are well aware that time is of the essence and that craft means exercise, routine and consistency.

I am infinitely grateful to MN for having taught me a healthy, pragmatic and joyful approach as a working actress. “Love your work, get the job”.
Thanks to them, I feel ready!
Thank you!
