I used Buttons and Bows for the adjustments for my wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses. Helen was amazing, she catered to all our needs even though I gave her a challenge with one of the bridesmaids dresses needing major adjustments. She is so friendly and it was easy to share all my ideas with her. All the dresses turned out fabulously - Thank you so much!

Button and bows was recommended to me when l purchased an outfit for my son's wedding. That was 8 years ago and I've now become a regular visitor. Helen is amazing, and absolute miracle worker. Also she has made 2 long evening dresses for me which are just stunning. I certainly wouldn't consider going anywhere else. My husband now takes his alterations there. Nothing is a problem. All Helen wants to do is please you.
We think she is a real sweathart.

I have been using Helen at Buttons and Bows for many many years now so a review of Helen and her work is long overdue. Helen has altered and made clothes for myself, my girls and husband and has helped each of us out of many a fashion disaster! Her manner, professionalism and skill is legendary in Cranleigh and I have and will continue to wholeheartedly recommend her without hesitation.

My experience started off well but ended in a bit of a disaster I'm sorry to say. My wedding dress was altered. I went back a few times to try it on, once with my shoes. On the last fitting I didn't have my shoes, the lady said it didn't matter by that stage. I took my dress home and then I took it 55 miles to where our wedding was taking place. On the eve of my wedding day eve I put my dress on to show my sister in law, with all the trimmings including my shoes, upon entering the room to show my sister in law her face dropped and I looked down to see the hem of my wedding dress at quite a substantial angle - basically one foot was hidden and I could have tripped over the dress and the other shoe was showing quite considerably - the hem was not straight. That night I hardly slept, in an area where I didn't know anyone I enlisted the help of the hotel to find a seamstress to help me so on the eve of my wedding day my dress was taken apart and corrected by a wonderful local lady and all was well. The new seamstress pointed out to me some red marks inside the dress that she thought were from a strawberry and also voiced her disappointment at how the inside material of the dress had been cut and not 'finished' and left with frays showing. I did talk to Buttons and Bows who offered to pay some of the cost towards having my dress fixed from what could only have been their fault, no one else was employed to alter my wedding dress, just them. It was a stress that no bride needs the day before her wedding. I'm afraid I would not recommend this company. Perhaps it was a one off but it caused way too much stress and tears.

It's so handy to have a business like Buttons and Bows located in Cranleigh. I volunteer at a charity shop in the village and we are always sending customers over to Helen for alterations to their bargain purchases. Personally Helen has altered several items for me and even though she is very busy they are always ready on the agreed day and beautifully worked

I Sought help from Buttons & Bows when I had a pair of trousers that were ripped from thigh to ankle about an inch away from the seam.
I thought that there was no way the trousers could be saved, but Helen's expertise meant that I got them back invisibly mended a few days later.
I was really impressed by Helen's friendly service, professionalism and attention to detail.
Thank you Helen. I will be back!

I used Buttons and Bows to tailor my wedding dress and although the finished result was right there was a fair amount of stress along the way due to the work not being completed when we went to pick it up; in the end the dress was only ready four days before it was needed. I also found the set up very difficult for wedding dresses – the changing room is tiny, there were people coming in off the street when I was undressed, there is only one small mirror and the floor is uneven and dirty, making it hard to keep the dress clean. We had to work hard with Buttons and Bows to suggest corrections and repeat what we'd asked for and felt at every stage that they were taking on too much work, leading to rushing things with us. The price was however very competitive.

Helen did such an amazing job with my wedding dress – it fit like a glove on the day which was no mean feat given my ever-changing waistline! I would highly recommend her to anyone.
