1st Class Sparks

Needed a fuseboard changed over in a rental property of mine. The quality of the work was very neat, and there was no mess left behind. Will definitely be using 1st Class Sparks again in the future.

The first time Adam did some work for us, the job was great and he was very friendly. We gave him 5 stars on checkatrade.com. We booked him again for another small job however, this second experience was completely different - the job was shoddily done and not to specifications but the WORST thing was that I gave him the key to unlock the entrance door and he never returned the key to me. I asked him for my keys back, he said he had returned them to me, but they were nowhere to be found, we looked for them everywhere. We became very suspicious and had to change two Banham locks and have spare keys cut out at a cost of £600. We claimed on the insurance but this has cost us a lot over the years in inflated content insurance costs. On the basis of this experience, I would not be able to recommend him.

Had work done in 2015 by this company which involved removing 28 low voltage bulbs and replacing the light fitting with GU10 LEDs. Adam Tew came to my flat along with 2 colleagues. They replaced the fittings without earthing them. Class 1 Luminaires need to be earthed - anything Class 1 HAS to be earthed.This put me in a very vulnerable position to get an electric shock when changing the bulb or if it had over heated it could have caused a fire hazard. He is totally uncooperative and claims he does not recall doing the job however I have email confirmation of him coming to my flat. He charged £1150 for a 2 hour job which should have cost £450 apparently. Avoid at all costs!! This is a scammer and I am now escalating it further with NICEIC who he is a member of and Trading Standards. I am pretty sure some of the other reviews on here/Checkatrade etc are fake.

Excellent service. Adam came today and fixed a power failure on one of our circuits. Efficient, friendly, polite, and good value. We will use him again.
