Had an amazing time on the tour. In truth it’s quite a short walk, but John’s endless collection of knowledgeable stories and witty banter easily filled up the 2 hours that it lasted. My wife and I learnt a lot about the history of Canterbury, the origins of common phrases and sayings, and had a good laugh. There was also the occasional jumpy moment! Highly recommended.

First time doing a history tour after many visits to Canterbury and it always being on my to do list. Did not disappoint and had a great night. Sad to see people below commenting negatively on the tour, lighten up guys.. Go with an open mind, relax and I promise you will enjoy it. Also had a nice glass of wine at alberrys (meeting point) before we set off so recommend getting there early to have a drink beforehand.

Epic ghost tour. Just the right combination of humour, history, and spooks, had me laughing all the way through. Oddly there are lots of bad reviews about this guy making fun of foreigners, but I was probably the most foreign-looking person in our group (Guyanese/Peruvian) and I felt more at ease than in the entire past week that I've been in the UK on vacation. He poked a lot of fun at English people too, and it was all pretty funny to me. Stories are art, and all art is political, so I suppose you'll always get folks who get offended. Anyway, masterful storytelling with a good bit of audience participation every now and then. I'd really like to hear about our guide's creative process (whose name I cannot remember for the life of me. Sorry!)
This turned into a bit of a rambly one but I really wanted to leave a good review. Canterbury Ghost Tours! Good!!

John was entertaining, witty and informative. His jokes were not for the faint-hearted and at times ran a little long but he clearly has a love and passion for history and Canterbury that shone through. I did think there would be more paranormal aspects but did appreciate the jump scares and spooky tales. We also did this tour on a Saturday night and John handled the rowdy drunks effortlessly. Really enjoyable! Thanks John ❤️

Had a great time learning some of the history of Canterbury, John was a fantastic host who interacted with the audience, some of the more sensitive among us may not enjoy this brand of humour but that's on them!

Would recommend to anyone looking for a light-hearted experience learning about some gruesome history

My sister gifted me this Ghost Tour for my birthday and I loved it. The tour twisted and turned through the dark streets of Canterbury as John brought its gruesome history to life. It was great hearing about Canterbury’s dark past, and actually taking the time to stop and observe it, rather than jostle quickly through its streets as I often do. The route is flat, on chiefly cobbled streets, and involves gentle walking for over an hour. The tales are told with humour and passion and John is clearly very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend.

John was a great story teller with frightening jump scares! The audience engagement was good and I appreciate he came out in freezing temperatures. I can see why some people may have been offended by the jokes as some were a little bit old fashioned but overall it was a great experience, we learnt a lot about the history of Canterbury, would recommend.
