St. John the Evangelist Church, Caterham Valley

I use to be a Sunday school teacher in St Johns back in the late 1960s/early 1970s
I then got married in St Johns in October 1982 by special licenece as i did not live in Caterham at that time.

An inclusive Church

My regular place of worship. Pop in one Sunday, or Thursday if you are isolating. Friendly vicar and congregation

I'm not a churchgoers but I'm learning to bell ring here. Everyone is very friendly and it's a beautiful church. At the moment the church is beautifully decorated for the jubilee and has a fantastic display of "Hats fit for a queen" inside made by the local community. The stained glass inside is also beautiful

Beautiful grounds and a haven of serenity in Caterham. There is a solitary bench at the east end facing the main road. Despite the bustle of people passing and going about their day, it is a nice place to sit, quietly, and watch those people go by.
