Driving along the main road, seeing this little church high up above the landscape is the first clue of the history of the site. Get up close and you will see that the West wall is quite early, maybe 13th century, and although much of the rest owes lots to 19th century rebuild, you'll find a tomb under a curved shape in coloured stone in the south wall - a tomb thought to date from a previous church on the same site. Look back towards the main road and you'll notice the 'field' is full of earthworks - it's the site of what's thought to have been an Elizabethan house.
