Really nice looking restaurant with plenty of space between tables. We struggled to get a booking when asking but managed to get one online last minute so must have been a cancellation. £5 per person non refundable to book but this is taken off your bill. I didn't mind this and appreciate it stops no shows.

Starters and mains were all very well presented and tasted great. My partner's only complaints were the fish and scallops were overpowered by capers and the apple pure. It all tasted great individually especially the black pudding but she missed the scallop and plaice flavour. My lamb belly starter was really tasty but a little small. The duck and sausage bean stew was flavoursome but could have been a bit more generous with the meat portions.

We both were disappointed with the cheese board. 2 of the Welsh cheeses were delicious but the other 2 was an average brie and a blue. The crackers looked to be picked from a selection box. Compared to the rest of the meal it would have been nice to have a few artisan or local made crackers. Only a small bowl of chutney and celery to go with the cheese. Would also be nice for a second chutney or grapes, bread etc. Considering it was £10 a plate it felt lacking a few extras and presentation.

Martinis were delicious and freshly made around £8 each which is in line with what I would expect in a restaurant. The orchid cider served nice and cold for about £5 which is a bit high but inline for a restaurant of this calibre.

Service was great and friendly. Initially thought the starter was slow to arrive but the rest came out pretty quickly.

Considering we spent over £110 it started well but lost a point for the cheeseboard being sub par. Everything else tasted great and service was good but considering the price it's not all there

The food & place in general looked nice, i understand that preference is to book however we didn’t think there was any harm in asking for a table since it was a monday night, we asked politely as we work in a restaurant ourselves and understand that the public can be rude however the response we got from the girl behind the bar was as if we were asking for her to polish our shoes or something!! I wouldn’t have minded if it looked like she was run off her feet busy, i get that as it can be stressful however it wasn’t and speaking to customers as if they are stupid whilst they are being polite is, in my opinion, out of order which is why unfortunately, we will not be returning. I’m sure the food is lovely and the other staff are welcoming but on this occasion the lady soured the experience and has put us off

Booked a table, as I think you need to . They required a deposit up front, which was fine and automatically taken off the final bill. The price for the meals were appropriate for the standard of food which was very good. There is still a nod to the buildings previous history maintained in the decor. The only downside was the lack of atmosphere and as there is no carpet, it is loud in there with everyone talking But I would recommend it

I've been wanting to go for years but never been able to book at a time suitable for me!
The food was lovely, the decor was beautiful
It's only a small restaurant and there was a large party next to me which made the place very loud. That's just the luck of the draw I guess.

Amazing! My husband and I often go away for city break weekends and are nearly always dissappointed with the meals, as we eat so well at home. We were NOT dissappointed here! Photos show pork belly starter, chicken with couscous, steak and dauphinoise - all wonderful! Make aure you book!

Really nice place for a good meal out in Barmouth. Decor and interior well done and good atmosphere. Food exceeded expectations, the pork belly starter was melt in the mouth, the ribeye well cooked with exceptional dauphinoise and the scallop and prawn risotto very well done a true taste of the sea. I also loved my treacle tart dessert and was nice to finish with a couple of proper cocktails. We'll be back. Booking is essential as we tried to come last year and it was booked out. Worth the wait.

A very chilled ambiance, the staff were friendly, helpful and polite.
The food was exquisite, very well presented and a perfect portion size.
Just wish I'd have found this yesterday as I would have eaten there earlier and sampled more on their amazing menu. 👌🏻

Not the greatest of welcomes, a quick head nod from behind the counter and then told we were early (7:24 for a table booked at 7:30) before being asked to stand, yes stand, in the doorway waiting.
Once we were sat down, the service was good although a bit rushed.
The food, wow! Amazing, the halloumi starter is something else and I would highly recommend. Our main dishes ( Cod and Beef), were delicious and delivered piping hot. This is a restaurant that delivers amazing food at a reasonable price and a place we would definitely return to. Sort out the basics about meeting and greeting / spacing out your bookings slightly and it will be a five 🌟.
