We got married in October and this venue was perfect for us. It is absolutely stunning and set in such a beautiful area. The cottage and the barn are both finished off to a very high standard and there is everything there that we could possibly need - including an area outside where the children could play safely. We were also able to have photographs with a variety of backdrops - next to woodland, next to the stream, near the fields with the Alpacas which was lovely! The hosts were perfect. I mainly dealt with Lisa, who was extremely helpful. Nothing was too much for her and she had so many great ideas and suggestions and never tired from my endless questions. She also had all the contacts I needed for caterers etc and had personal experience with them which for me was very important.. I would recommend this barn 100% - having our reception here certainly helped in making my wedding day the best day of my life

Yesterday, I had my wedding here at the Barn at Baron Hill. There are no words to describe just how perfect it was. From the beautiful barn, the hidden streams and the spacious fields- it was my dream Venue. A DIY wedding is obviously known to be stressful, which it was, however on the day, Lisa (the owner of the venue) made our day seamless. She was hands on all day, ensuring everything ran smooth and went out of her way all day and night long to make sure it was perfect- which it was. I would tell anybody to use this as their venue as it really was a dream come true- and comes with a woman who is willing to go to great extremes to make sure it does. Thank you Lisa, for our perfect, barn wedding.

We had our wedding at The Barn at Barons Hill Farm on Saturday and it really was the best day of our lives. The venue was perfect- beautiful, calm and had enough space and separate areas for people to relax, mingle and enjoy themselves. The Barn is quite large, we had 7 large round tables in there and a dancefloor and DJ area. The marquee for the bar is also a good size, then there's another marquee with a fire outside which is lovely to relax around in the evening and eat marshmallows. The ceremony on the hill with guests sat on hay bales has a very beautiful and personal feel. We also had mini crazy golf in the courtyard area but still had plenty of room for pictures, drinks and other games. Lisa and her husband are lovely people and I really got the impression that they wanted the day to be perfect for us, they worked hard and made the day run smoothly. I would highly recommend this beautiful venue, we loved it and our guests had an amazing time too!

I attended a wedding here. It's a great venue if a little basic. It has lovely cottage accommodation available adjacent to the barn and plenty of parking space.
The barn itself is large enough to cater for around 100 guests and there is a spacious well stocked cash bar in the entrance area. There is plenty of outdoor space and a marquee covered area with seating. A welcome fire pit is in place for cooler temps and the night time outdoor lighting is pretty. There are also decent, clean ladies and gents toilets outside.
A separate grassy area is the ceremony location, with straw bales provided for guests to sit on.

This venue is the perfect venue for a farm wedding. My husband and I had the most amazing day. The staff were incredible, nothing was to much to for them. The venue in its self is stunning, the views of the countryside along with the sunset make's perfect pictures. All of guest commented on how lovely the venue was and how relax and informal we made our day.

It was everything my daughter and husband wanted. The weather helped as was 22nd June this year. The venue is a blank canvas so you can decorate to your own style we had rustic which was perfect. We found Lisa to be very helpful and communicated well. Advised on food suppliers , great location very relaxed and wish we could do it all again . There is also a wooden bridal suite to hire and a cottage for guests to hire.

We had more than a few issues with the venue/owner that caused stress not only on the day, but for months afterwards.

Before booking we were warned by a friend, that had previously been to a wedding at the Barn at Barons Hill Farm, that they sold alcohol to guests that was bought beforehand by the bride and groom. We booked anyway, thinking it was probably just a one off mistake. When friends at my wedding started saying that they had bought bottles of wine (for £20 each) and showed me the bottles that I had bought for the tables, I wasn't exactly pleased.

We had complaints from guests saying they were told we'd run out of welcoming drinks before over half of the people had even got to the venue. This seemed really odd because I'd over estimated what was needed. The next day we found boxes and boxes of the beer and champagne that we'd bought for the welcoming drinks, which they'd not used, instead selling their over priced drinks from their bar.

Hidden extras were a kick in the teeth. I guarantee the price you are initially quoted will not be the amount you end up paying. One that was really frustrating was the extra heater. The barn has little heaters scattered around, but we were warned a couple of days before the wedding that these wouldn't be enough and they'd have to hire another more substantial one in if we didn't want the guests to be cold. We obviously had to agree (at an inflated price) and had the heater for the day. I asked the staff on the day about the heater and was told, "No this isn't hired in, it's the owners".

The finally straw came when trying to get our damage deposits back. The owner was more than happy with how we left the venue, but when it came to her transferring us the money back she went full ghost mode on us. Emails and phone calls were rarely returned and when they were there was always a new excuse to why the money hadn't been transferred yet. My personal favourite was, "Our book keeper is on holiday this week, but I'll get him to look at it first thing Monday." It took months to finally get the money back.

I clearly wouldn't recommend this venue. It looks nice, but wasn't even close to being worth the extra stress that it caused.

My experience of both the venue, staff and management was incredible. They provided excellent and seamless service throughout which made mine and my husbands day what we had hoped for. All my friends and family commented on how smoothly the day went and it was all down to the staff and in particular the events manger Lisa who went out of her way to make our day so special.
