This is a family run business. Daughter Amanda took a good deal of time and patience explaining the various gas fires and stoves on show, without any sense pressure selling - whilst Dad sat benignly reminiscing. Having made our decision, Josh, who swept the chimney, Mike and son Harry who installed the stove were all friendly, efficient, trustworthy, and hugely experienced. In checking prices, The Better Hearth proved to be very decent value - but even more excellent in terms of expertise, knowledge, and approachability. Recommended!

Amanda really went out of her way to get my new stove and mantle installed within my tight timeframe- always really friendly and patient when it came to my endless questions. Mark (installer) and team were also really accommodating too. Efficient in their work and respectful of my home. A positive experience, very pleased with the purchase and installation.

Highly recommended! Great local business to buy a fireplace / stove and mantle from. It’s a family business that’s existed for generations and Amanda is very knowledgeable about the fireplaces. She took lots of time to answer all my questions, showed me different models and helped me find the perfect stove and mantle for my flat. The quality of the stove, mantle and hearth etc is fantastic. I went for a white marble mantle and a Stovax stove. The Better Hearth also work with excellent fitters which I can also highly recommend - Mark fitted my stove and it’s all been immaculate, he and his team work with high attention to detail and great care was taken when the fireplace was fitted. Clearly the Better Hearth and Mark both take great pride in their jobs and deliver excellent service. Both were available at any time for questions after the stove was fitted.

Extremely happy with our fireplace purchase and installation process with The Better Hearth and cannot recommend them enough. The hand carved white marble rose swag fireplace we purchased from the shop is absolutely stunning and we had so many compliments from everyone who comes to our house. The details of the carving and the quality of the marble is just breathtaking. We were also thrilled with the basket and the gas fire which we bought from them (with their expert advice) which look so great together. From beginning to end the whole process of getting our chimney lined, preparing the space, and installation of the fire and surrounds was smooth, painless and seamless. They are true professionals and the best of their trade; and saved us a a lot of headaches.
