Daybrook Fish Bar

After many years of super food and service something is going wrong. The regular owners are either away or have sold up, my last two visits have been very well below what we have come to expect...Hopefully this is just a temporary hitch, time will tell. January 2017.

I used to live close to here the chips are nice and the battered sausages are nice and salty how I like them. The same staff have worked there for as long as I have been going. Miss this place.

1st time I've been and can honestly say there the best fish and chips in Arnold will definitely be going there again

Stunning fish and chips!! Superb quality fish in crispy batter, cooked in New oil. Probably the best I've had in years, so I thoroughly recommend this establishment! The minted mushies are just the icing on the cake!

These are tastiest chips I have ever tried they are always cooked just right and a lovely colour the prices are fantastic and the staff always friendly. I would give give 10* if I could

Chips were hard over cooked and cold must have been left overs from lunch, fish was cooked fresh and was ok but not the best I've had, curry sauce was like water, won't be returning

We used to visit on a regular basis as chips were best in the area. On our last few visits in between going to another that's closer to home, the chips have seemed less fresh and the chinese curry sauce last time was way too salty so we couldnt finish it. I suspect there's been a change of owner as I only recognise one of the staff now. Hopefully in time they will turn this around.

Since moving to the area 3 months ago I have used this place many times however I will NEVER use it again. Tonight I went it said opens at 5, at 5.05 I knocked on the door as it was cold. I got a load of abuse from the Chinese man and told me to "piss off" mate if your reading this be thankful I was hungry as I wouldn't have let you get away with that.
