Leyland Cross Fish & Chips

Had a dinner on friday night with wife.
Ordered large haddocks, chips and mushy peas. They were great and We were very satisfied.

Ordered a steak pudding & chips, and fish & chips to go. Previously had good experiences here but this time there was nothing positive I can say. Opened the bag and they’d served one with just the paper and put a box in there so there was gravy everywhere and half of the food was lost in the bag, in the other order there was hairs on the chips (I’m blonde and my friends ginger) so it was not ours. And to top it off the chips and fish was dry. £14 later, still hungry and put off chippy.

This shop has a well deserved reputation for being the best fish and chips outlet in the Leyland and surrounding areas. The food is always at an excellent and reasonably priced. The staff are always friendly and helpful and serve food promptly even at the busiest times. In addition to the usual takeaway service they have a dine in section with food delivered to your table on plates.
Well worth a visit if you are in this area.

Leyland Cross made me cross. The sausage, chips and drink special left a lot to be desired. The portion of gravy was pitiful and the chips lacked any sort of crunch - the drink was also just a choice of 2 off-brand colas. The fact that this place is cash only still in 2021 is shocking. A card machine and a better fryer please! I won’t be going back

Stopped by on a Friday dinnertime with my wife after the smell of chip wafted across the carpark. So glad we did pop in: fast and polite staff, good price. Pleasantly surprised they had a dining in area which was nice and welcoming. Jumbo sausage chips and gravy arrived quickly with a pot of tea - decent portion and probably the best chippy dinner I've had in a good while. I'll definitely be going back. Highly recommended!
