Deep Blue (South Parade Pier, Southsea)

Rating 4.5! Excellent staff. Very tasty meal. Scooter chair accessible. We didn't use the WC so can't comment on that as per accessible for a disabled. Experience would have been 5 star if it wasn't that there was a chill in the seated area away from the restaurants kitchen, which made our meal cool quicker. Staff were absolutely brilliant. Will definitely visit again.

Absolutely fantastic can't fault this place in anyway, very large portions. We always ordered from the other branches but never knew about the restaurant on the Pier. Great interior, great food and a stunning view of the coast line. Excellent service too, highly recommend but would have to go for the kids size next time as it was way too much food for me on this occasion.

Gone downhill and has become extremely expensive.

We've been coming here for years. When it opened it was clean and served great beers and wines in lovely glasses. Complementing this was a full breakfast offering and quite an extensive varied menu.

Fast forward post COVID and the nice glasses gone, prices rocketed and overall dirty and tired fixtures and fittings.

When I went in recently I took one look at the menu shocked at the prices, 10 minutes later after not being served by a server, I walked out.

Such a shame, this place will end up closed if it does not somehow work out a way to increase quality, lower prices and spend a couple of thousand on a steam clean of the place and a repaint.

Very disappointing, I go elsewhere now.

Very classy clean looking restaurant with very friendly efficient staff.
Food was delicious.
You can either order at the bar or the modern way of using the QR code on your table.
Chips are always cooked to perfection with a firm crispy exterior.

Great fish and Chips freshly prepared and served with style. Lovely views off the pier from our table too. Highly recommend!

Deep Blue Fish and Chip shop was closed so we followed the sign which states that we can order at the restaurant. We ordered 2 kids meals, one portion of cod bites and one medium cod with chips. Was happy to wait 40 min as service was running late.We have never had such weird, dry and chewy fish before. Children's portions were exactly the same as the adult cod bites... We didn't check the boxes when we collected, and I regret that as I would have asked for my money back there and then. Really dissapointed as such difference between their own fish and chip shop and 'the restaurant', really anaemic.

The orders and payment are put through by QR code system. The staff is very polite, helpful and explained everything very clearly. All tables are cleaned after each customer and 'arrow system' is in place, which makes the entire place very Covid friendly and organised. We will definitely return soon!! If you stop by the pier in Portsmouth, definitely go for it! 👏
P.S.: The onion rings are to die for! ⭐

We ordered regular fish and chips and the portions were huge and fresh. Customer service was good and their manager was friendly.
Restaurant atmosphere was good as well with beautiful sea view.
We will back again.
