Franca's Fish & Chips

Absolutely shocking, the staff on the counter are just too young and have no customer skills again. 3rd time on the spin the wrong order despite me asking him to check, it used to be so good here, what has happened? Never again, save your money. Pictured below is a burnt chicken thigh which was sold to me as a breast, I threw it out for a fox who turned his nose up and walked away, disgusting.

After 5 mins of deliberating, I placed an order. Lots of back and forth with the monosyllabic youth serving. Only upon finalizing the order did he advise me that they were accepting cash only.

So I didn't have the opportunity to sample the food but the fish I saw looked lifeless and congealed.

Had fish and chips for 3 adults Saturday evening, very good, lovely cod, well cooked and chips were very nice. Second time using this shop for a takeaway in the past month and last time was just as good. Yes, you do have to wait as all fish is cooked to order but if you are in a hurry why not call before hand and place your order. All staff polite and friendly.

Had lovely takeaway from here. I had a really nice cod and chips. My partner had a chicken pie. Generous portions all food cooked well.

I always buy my fish and chips from here. It is a takeaway chip shop, you cannot eat in. The food is cooked fresh and the prices are very good. They do very good deals at lunchtime

I gave them 1 star because I couldn't give none. The people serving really didn't want to be there, the fish way by far the very WORST we have ever bought. The batter had a horrible rubbery texture and taste which went through to the fish. I cannot express how awful this food was. It used to be the best in Ware now Sea Tree leaves the others standing. It went from greasy bag to plate to bin in 3 easy moves. No pic as it just went straight into the bin.

We picked up fish and chips from here on Friday night to find out after eating it that the place had been taken over my new owners. Our chips were covered in grit and I found a stone inside one of my chips. I tried to call Franca's on the evening to let them know (3 times in fact) and they didn't answer the phone. Safe to say that's put us off and we won't be coming back.
