worst fish have had for some time, undercooked, tasteless, gave me wind, hubs thought it had been in freezer for too long, substandard maybe..even the gherkin was soft and old-tasting and most of it went in bin, what a waste and an insult, too tired to go back and complain but wouldn't go there again, grr. and now think of it the oil was a bit old too so wasn't even willing to eat the batter and all the flavour was in that with lashings of salt..

Not the best. Over cooked batter on fish, and flour throughout their pea fritters?

The premises is not very clean inside, plastic sheeting stuck to walls hides tiles that used to be falling off. I have not eaten here in some time due to being disappointed in the quality of the food. The chips are often dry and bitty in the bag. Not very busy in there like it used to be, I think because the standard has dropped a lot over the years. The place needs a good overhaul and refurb. Staff usually helpful and friendly. I think most times their food hygiene has been a 3.

These are simply the best Fish and chip shop by far, i often travel 15 miles to get them. All cooked fresh, fish is great and the chip portions are amazing. A large chips will feed 3 easily, 2 if your hungry, and 1 ...well if you like chips! Seriously, best chip shop - give them a go!

Omg i popped in to pick up some fish and chips and hadnt been there for a while. Was blown away by the quality. Massive pieces of succulent cod absolutely delicious.

Love the new eco friendly packaging. Thank you for such a warm welcome. They only accept cash but will cook up your order when you pop next door to the free cash point in Aldi.

Wish id taken a photo of the cod but it was too scrummy to waste any time.

So bad I couldn't even eat the chips, they went in the bin.To the owner who served me, I hope the penny pinching was worthwhile by reheating the chips!Even if you're starving, don't bother you won't get fed here, go elsewhere!

Not the fastest place to get fish and chips from, but definitely worth the wait. The food is cooked to order, and it shows in the taste.
Mid range pricing makes this one of the best fish and chip shops in the local area

We were starving at work so jumped on to "Just Eat", we agreed that a good old fish and chips would hit the spot. Came across Jolly's so ordered 3 x cod and chips. Waited 45 minutes for the food to turn up and can honestly say we wish it hadn't! Cold, rock hard chips, dried out batter and fish that had the same texture as someone's feet who has not worn shoes for 20 years!
